"you kill me when you say you love me"
she said with her Mona Lisa smile

she rips her love-dove poems into shreds
when she thinks he is looking

fantasies are beautiful when they are broken
(because that is when they become real),
its what he believes
(when she cries)
and what she thinks
(when he tells her he hates her)

he tells her,
"I hate you"

she asks him,
"is that another way to say I Love you?"
(she is hopelessly in love)
and it almost sounded like she was hopeful
of him not meaning it
of him loving her

(she believed him when he said, maybe)

and he isn't (in love with her)
because he walks away
and she thinks (she loves him)
she could bleed black if he asked
