Singing idly in the tree

Not one bit afraid of my influence

Talking back to him, he sings in response

I am amazed he doesn't move

As I approach, he continues his song

While I water my flowers

He serenades me, then says his farewell

Rare occasion though this was

I'll never forget the tiny Chickadee's courage

And his gift of song to me.
