Problem-Child
She sat in the Principals' office,
Feeling smug at causing trouble,
She'd managed to hurt someone
More than they could hurt her.
In control, as always.
Parents rush in, annoyed,
"What is it this time?"
Principal gives them the details,
Emphasises for her sake.
She smiles.
In control, as always.
Dad looks at her,
She looks back with a "What" expression,
He shakes his head, "Nothing,"
She sits back, no longer at ease,
Once again reminded that she is
And always will be
A Problem-Child.
And Never Totally In Control.
