She walked into her
room and looked at the dress that was staring right at her...
It
was Pink, out of all the colors in the world, her mother had
to pick her old favorite color. She slowly walked up to it...
Ella would have love this dress She thought
She took her clothes and slides the dress on. She tied it around her neck and looked inside the closet. She opened box that was in the corner. The box was full of Ella's old shoes, all of her colorful high heels, sandals, boots and other type of shoes
she took out a pair of pink high heels slid her feet in, and she walked to her vanity, she didn't fall once, it was like she always wore high heels. She remembered the day she stopped wearing them.
Ella was going on a date with
Ted. It was the day after they officially got together. Ella was
wearing a white skirt with a red silk tank top and red high heels,
her long hair in soft curls. Ella Walked out of her house and into
Ted's car. Ted kissed Ella and drove to the movies. After the movie
he took her back home but before she got out he grabbed her arm.
"You
should stop wearing heels", he whispered
"Why"
"You
don't need to impress anyone, I don't want people thinking you're a
slut"
Ella looked at him and nodded. When she went inside she
ran to her room and put all her shoes in a box and never opened it
again.
She combed her short hair and applied a bit of lip-gloss and sparkle on her eyelids. She didn't have a bit of black on her face. She looked just like she did before she met Ted she just missed her hair. She heard the doorbell, and sighed. It was time to face her old life.
"Ella, hurry up, their here." My mother yelled
she opened her door and locked it. She didn't
need them looking in there. She walked into the living room, her
father was talking to Wendy's father, her mother was talking to
Wendy's mother and Joey and Wendy was talking to Rachel. All of them
looked at her as she walked in; her mother quickly wiped a tear from
her face.
"Great were all here, let's go," her father
said
"Go where"
"We are going out to eat"
Joey said
"Oh"
They went outside, the parents went in her dad's car and they went with Joey. Rachel and Wendy sat in the back, which left her no choice, but to sit in front with Joey.
"You look beautiful, he whispered
"Thanks,
my mother made me wear this," she said
"You should totally
think of changing back to your old self," Wendy said out of
nowhere
She said nothing
"Joey what you doing tomorrow."
Rachel asked
"Nothing, might unpack my stuff"
"You're
going to live with your parents, She asked
"Yup" he said
"Pathetic" she whispered
"Why" he
asked
"Your 25, you should be living on your own"
"I
was, but my mother begged me to move in with them."
"Oh
well that doesn't really explain much" She said
"It's
none of your business Ella" Wendy yelled
"Wendy chill"
Joey said
Wendy glared at her and began to talk to Rachel.
She remembered the first time she ever heard Wendy yell. They were both 7, they were swimming in the pool. Joey was playing with Ella and Wendy got jealous. Wendy yelled and Joey dropped Ella to go clam her down. Once he let go of Ella, she sank to the bottom. Ella didn't know how to swim, so Ella began to drown. 5 minutes later Joey grabbed Ella and gave Ella CPR. Once Ella opened her eyes Joey hugged her and Ella's eyes met Wendy's. She looked mad, angry, disgusted. Every time Wendy yells, She thinks about that day... the day she almost died...
She looked out the window and saw the fancy
restaurant. Joey told her to stay inside the car; confused she did as
she was told. Wendy and Rachel got out and so did he. He ran to her
side and opened the door for her. He grabbed her arm and began to
walk
"I don't need your help, I can walk," she said
pulling away from him. They walked in and sat down at their table.
Joey sat next to her, she was about to get up, but she notice that
she wasn't going to be able to move since all the seats were taken.
They order their food and sat there having small talk.
"Ella
how's School" Wendy's mom asked
"Fine"
"I
haven't seen you around the house anymore, how come."
"I
have been busy," She said
"All summer"
"Yes"
"Oh well you should come over, I miss you and the fashion
shows you girls do."
Fashion shows; that was such a long
time ago, She remember she wanted to be a fashion model. Ella was in
love with clothes, fashion was Ella's Life. Every year since they
were 9 they would star in their own fashion show, that their mother
helped them organized. Last year Ella and Wendy organized it. She had
to admit it was the best thing ever.
Every year they got stores to
donate clothes. They would do the fashion show at Wendy's house since
she had a beautiful back yard, which could hold a lot of people. It
was amazing. Last year was the last time Ella was going to be part of
that, since she had quit when she met Ted.
"I'm still doing
it" Wendy said
"With who" her mother asked
"With
Rachy" Wendy shirked
She looked at Wendy and Wendy just
smirked
She sat there in silence, listening to every detail they
were saying about the fashion show. She felt a pin stab her
heart.
"So Ella who are you taking to your dad's party"
Wendy asked
"No one"
"Ella I told you this
morning that you have to bring a date," her dad said
"I'll
take her," Joey offered
"No" She yelled
They all
turned to look at her
"I already have a date," She said
quickly
"You just said you didn't" Joey pointed
out
"Well I lied"
"Who's the lucky guy?" He
asked
"Elliot" she blurted out
"You're going
out with Elliot again" Wendy asked
"No"
"You
lying"
"No"
They started at each other until
the food came
She remembers the time when Wendy didn't want
Ella to go out with Elliot. Now that she thinks about it Wendy never
wanted her to go out with anyone, not Elliot nor Ted.
"Ella
he's a Player, you can do way better then that, plus we have the
fashion show you don't have time for boyfriends" Wendy had
said while painting her toe nails pink.
Ella and Wendy were in
Wendy's room getting ready to organize the fashion show. Ella had
just told her how she wanted to go out with Elliot.
"I know,
but he seems to be different, I don't think he'll play with me"
Ella said taking off her shirt.
"Oh Ella, your a nice
person, that you don't see the evil in people, he's a player, he'll
play anyone" Wendy said while throwing Ella, Joey's shirt.
"You
sure I can sleep over, I don't want to bother anything"
"Don't
be silly, you're like part of the family"
Part of the Family; those words should have never been said. Ella was part of the family, but She isn't...
After dinner they went back to her house to
drink Tea.
"Ella Darling, why don't you show Joey and
Wendy your room." her mother said
"How about no"
she said
"Wendy would love to see your room, she hasn't
seen it since the beginning of the school year" Wendy's mother
said
She sighed and got up; she walked and looked at the girl
she once was. She unlocked her door and they went inside.
"What
did you do? Wendy said in shock
"What" she asked
confused
"What happened to the pink walls, the white
furniture, the net falling over your bed, we spend a week working on
it, what did you do" she yelled taking in the dark purple
reddish walls, the black bed frame, desk, nightstand, bookshelf, the
Yellow bed spread, the band posters on the walls, the clothes on the
floor, and the smell of weed in the air.
"I needed a change,
I wasn't feeling the pink, She said coolly
"I like it, it
says a lot about you, how you have changed" Joey said staring at
her
"I hate it, I worked so hard and you end up taking it all
away"
"Get over it" she said
Wendy looked at
her
"Joey get out, I want to talk to Ella" Wendy said
Joey looked at her and then at Wendy he walked out the door and
closed it...
"Look at what he did to you" Wendy said
getting closer to her
"Who" she asked bitterly
"Ted,
he ruined you, look every fucken color you have is dark, what
happened to your colorful clothes" Wendy said while looking at
her closet
"There in there, in a box" she said with a
smile
"Ella what happened"
"Ella is gone," She
whispered in Wendy's ear
"We use to be best friends, what
happened to that"
"People Change" she said
"Ella
we use to say that we will never change, that we would be best
friends forever" Wendy said
"Wendy nothing last forever,
just ask Ted" she said coldly
"I can't believe this
boy changed you" Wendy glared
"That boy has a name,"
She yelled
"Ted the bad boy" Wendy hissed
"Why
do you care, we aren't friends, we aren't anything" She
yelled
"I thought that maybe I can change you back, I guess
not" Wendy whispered...
She looked at Wendy and Wendy slowly walked out of her room
