My Husband, Their Daddy
20 October 2006
11:13 P.M.

I look into your eyes
And I am so overwhelmed
You are such a good man
I knew it the first time you held me

Those same strong hands
That held me so softly
Fill me with affection now
As they hold our son so gently

The love in your eyes
I see when you watch our baby
Mirrors that which I feel for you
It's been growing even stronger lately

I worried about my own feelings
When we decided to have kids
I feared I'd be jealous that they had a father
When, growing up, I never did

I now see I needn't have worried
You're such an excellent father
I saw it as we raised our son
I see it again was we raise our daughter

I am glad they have you
You give them everything I never had
You are their hero, you know
I hear it in their voices when they call you 'dad'

I look into your eyes
And I am so overwhelmed
You are such a good man
How much I love you, words can never tell
