Alegría
By
December Sunday (#444797)
Summary: Alegría was a normal high-school girl, until she was transported to a strange world to save her kingdom, a mystic land ravaged by war and an insane prince. So, Alegría and her five knights must save their kingdom (or fall in love)... or die trying.
Extended Summary: Alegría was your typical seventeen-year-old. She attended high school, studied (and occasionally partied), fell in 'love,' got in fights with her parents, and looked forward to the mysterious but hopeful future. However, deep down, she knew that she was anything but normal.
Haunted by what her parents called 'daydreams,' Alegría knew that there was something in her past that would affect her future – she just didn't know what; but, when she was stepped through an old door leaning against her friend's wall, she suddenly knew exactly what it was. She's the queen-to-be of the land of Mealegro who had been sent away to survive the horrendous attacks against her family when she was young, and now Alegría's sole purpose is to reclaim Mealegro Kingdom and return peace to the land. Five male knights aid her in secret – warriors born to protect her, but who were definitely not expecting (or trained for) their elegant princess to dress in pants, curse, or have such an attitude!
Note: This sounds like Sailor Moon. It's not.
Prologue
Destiny is uncontrollable – immobile, save of its own will.
Destiny is determined long before you are born, and it clings to you like a shadow your whole life.
Some destinies are simple and unrecognizable. It's some people's destiny to spend their lives as fishermen living in rickety shacks.
Some destinies are important and complex. A queen's destiny is obvious, and it's effects can last centuries, like ripples in disturbed water.
Similarly, it was the destiny of the inhabitants of Mealegro to live peacefully beneath the rule of King Allegro and Queen Ria Valore – until, that is, the kingdom was attacked.
It was the typical story of the royal family's evil relatives hungry for more power. The Ingenua family was unsatisfied with the mere land given to them for having royal blood; they wanted the real kingdom, they wanted to rule Mealegro. The plan of treason had been simmering for a long time; they had poured over it for years, making it foolproof. Years of forming the plan, filled with excruciating details and painstaking measures, had led to the birth of their song Alario, who was only the first step in reaching their goal.
A few years later, King Allegro and Queen Ria gave birth to a child – Alegría Reyna. With the arrival of their crown princess, the quest for a suitor was made. However, no one needed to look far, as Alario was the obvious choice. The Ingenua family was related through a series of divorces and mixed blood, and thus the marriage was lawful and safe for the parties involved. Naturally, the hope was that they would be compatible and create a prosperous reign and a healthy, worthy heir. However... that was not the case.
Alario was "adopted," in a way, by the Valore royal family, and lived within the castle for seven years as a playmate and future-suitor of the growing Princess Alegría.
Suddenly, during a family gathering, at which Alario's family was unsurprisingly present, the Ingenuas began to massacre everyone in the castle, their first victims being King Allegro and Queen Ria. Somehow, amidst the chaos, Alegría was protected – she was transported to a place where her well being was not endangered, the parallel world of Mealegro, Earth, leaving her family and world behind.
For years Alario and Ingenua family has reigned over Mealegro, and they seem unstoppable. Mealegro's only savior is Princess Alegría, destined to one day come back and reclaim what was rightfully hers... but many speculate her story is only a mere legend, a fairytale. However, they don't know that on 'Earth,' their Princess plans on returning.
And that where the legend continues and the destinies of Princess Alegría, her five knights and Alario Ingenua collide.
