The Race

I am running the race.
I do not see the end,
But daily I strive.
Daily, for the Lord.

The race is not easy,
At time I fall,
But He is there.
He picks me up.

Day by day I continue.
Running the race of Life,
The Lord's work to do,
His Word to spread.

At the end of the race,
When all is said and done,
I look for a crown.
The crown of righteousness.

There is a race to run,
A life we must live.
Do you look for the crown?
Will you run for God?

Author's note: The idea of life and the Christian walk as a race is from 1 Cor. 9:24-27, and 2 Tim. 4:7-8.
