Desertion,

Betrayal,

Traitors,

Spies,

Double agents,

All these people,

Out to get you,

Out to hurt you,

Out to make you cry.

Their life's mission is to kill,

Their dearest wish is devastation,

And what hurts them the most is when they see the purity of love,

Of true love,

And that's why they love to destroy it.

It hurts them so,

To know that there is something more out there,

Something so flawless,

Something so innocent,

Something that has nothing on its conscience.

They hate the feeling,

So they hate the idea.

And they love to kill it.

It's terrible how they rid the world of it,

It really is,

And I,

Of all people,

Should know,

Because they tried it on me.

They impersonate the thing they hate,

They impersonate love,

They impersonate kindness and loyalty,

And one day,

When you're not looking,

They grab a knife and stab you in the back,

And their mask of beauty suddenly falls off,

Leaving only the horror,

That is them.

They are afraid of the truth.

They run from it,

They try to deny it,

And when they realize they cannot,

They decide that the phrase

'If you can't beat them,

Join them',

Cannot be true,

And so has to try to beat the truth.

They race,

They run,

They try to beat the truth from the wondrous praise it deserves.

Sometimes they win,

But sometimes they don't,

And when you're the first,

When they're trying it out on you,

They can't see,

They can't see what you really are,

When they're trying it out on you,

They can't see,

They can't see what you can.

They hurt me,

And I'm scarred.

I can't speak anymore,

I can only sing,

And when someone looks at me,

When they see me,

The me that's inside of my disgusting form,

I shiver,

Because I know that only one of them could see myself for who I am.

So I do not speak to anyone.

I have shut myself off from the world,

With all its joy and splendor,

And I've been hiding from everything,

From them,

I suppose,

But I also know that I'm scared,

I'm scared of life,

Of truth,

Of honestly,

Of those principles,

Which once upon a time,

I worshipped.

I praised,

With utmost devotion.

I've changed,

Because that's what they do to you,

That's what they do to you,

Once they've hurt you so.

That's what happens.

I'm not sure whether they realize this,

But they change you,

More than you could imagine was possible.

They make you different.

They make you a shadow,

They make you live a shadow of what you were,

Because you know that if you continue to live in the light,

You'll only become one of them.

The light begins to scare you,

When you see it,

And you begin to hide from the world.

You don't care anymore.

You become an animal,

Without any real reasoning,

Although you can think.

Oh,

The things you think of.

Desertion,

Betrayal,

Traitors,

Spies,

Double agents,

All these people,

Out to get you,

Out to hurt you,

Out to make you cry.

Out to hurt you more.

Out to scratch you,

Fight you,

And make you submit to them.

A/N: This is a song that I'm having one of my MC's sing in Amos. The beat is off, and that's on purpose, because it's a child. I needed to find a way for her to communicate. The idea is off, and it isn't good, I know. I think it adds to the character. I can't have her be amazing at writing poetry or songs or something because she's going to exit the story quickly.
