This is my first original fic for this site so please be nice to it but be honest!

Life is a strange thing. Sometimes it makes you feel good, sometimes it does not. This tale is about what can happen if by some chance the darkness gets too strong in ones self. I t is about what can happen when you give up hope.

I sat in my desk at Central High School waiting for my test results. Math is my worst subject but I always manage to pull through in the end. Of course, I criticized myself badly, but then again everyone else does as well. Suddenly my name gets called, "Alex Stone."

"Yes." I replied.

"Come get your work." The teacher said.

I rose up out of my seat and walked over to him. Man was my heart pounding. The more I walked the more it went thump, thump, thump, thump! I then grabbed the paper and slowly began walking back to my seat never looking at it. As I sat the person next to me asked, "So what did you get?"

I never said anything back I just stared at the blank side of the back. However, I knew if I could not look at it now I would never be able to. Therefore, I gathered up all of my courage and quickly turned it over. I sighed in relief as a big A+ was written right across the top. I then thought to myself that this was going to be a good day, but this was only first period. I still had six more classes to go.

The bell rang and I including all other students ran out of the class scurrying to do what we need to before the next class. All I needed to do was visit the little boys' room. That would be a mistake I would come to regret, as I walked in I saw two others shooting dice on the floor. Naturally, I ignore them as they do me. As I go one brings up a conversation.

"Yeah he told me he'd been seeing this chic behind her dudes back. He has no idea."

"Who is she?" The other asked.

"She's like sixteen. I think black hair; she is around 5'9. Great rack too." He described her. Oddly enough, that sounded like my girlfriend Sarah. I started to get queasy in the stomach. I felt like puking but I held back.

I simply placed myself in the conversation, "What's her name?"

"What do you care?" The first one asked somewhat snobbish.

"Let's just say I've taken a slight interest." I replied.

"Not that it's any of your business but her name is Sarah Mitchell." He told me.

I did not know what to say, that is my girlfriends' name, and according to this person, she is cheating on me. My entire world came crashing down on me. Everything was spiraling out of control. I had been suspecting this for a while. All of a sudden out of nowhere, you see she never loved you. You are alone and nobody cares because that is what you are is nobody. Where did that come from? It was some kind of voice in my head, something talking. I did not completely understand but the voice was right, I am nothing. I am nobody; and these are the thoughts that are about to make my life a living Hell.
