Half Empty

The lightning striking in between the trees

Descending from a cloud that's full of rain

I hear the thunder and my mind foresees

No need to ever run away again

The ground is slick and slippery like the ice

Of frozen realms where there is always snow

The grass a soft wet chair in paradise

A place to let my mind just overflow

Rain drops and falls down from the sky through air

So heavy it would crush an insect's pride

But on my skin the rain makes me aware

Of feelings I can now kick from inside

The trees don't move, they stand like posts until

I leave and take the glass that's now refilled
