For KKW, A Birthday Poem:

Withering Me

Chameleon face

Like shimmering scales

Ugly truth

Threatens to tear you up

Hypocrisy is a mirror

Disappointment reflects,

Bouncing off your tears

Into these reptile eyes.

I'm just another demon

Battling myself

Solo voice

Against hollow vastness.

A willing player

In the game of manipulation

Convincing myself

That nothing is wrong.

Weaving myself relentlessly

Into the web of deception

Preying on the lifeblood

Of Unsuspecting creatures

Mercilessly watching it seep

Out of Battered skeleton

Defiling the ivory stone

That has cupped its soul.

Destroying

Them.

Withering

Me.
