This will be all told in Brooke's POV…
CHAPTER ONE: BROOKE, THE BANGED HAIRED GIRL
"Brooke Walters are you listening?" asks my best friend Hannah Sullivan. Here she was busy talking about her new boyfriend all the way from Europe.
"Yes, I've been listening to you for an hour." I said.
"Well, why do you seem so uninterested then?" she asked suddenly about to cry.
"Hannah, you experienced already too many relationships and still you don't give up. And for Pete's sake, he's a European! He's miles away from here." I said angrily.
"Brooke, I know he is the one. Besides he promised me that he'll transfer here." she said.
"What's his name again?" I asked.
"Wesley. And I thought you've been listening for a hour." she shrugged.
Here we go again. I and my best friend Hannah have known each other since I started studying here in Strathmore Academy and I was still a freshman back then. I live in a dorm together with her, Eliza (a computer geek but a great fashion lover) and Samantha (my best cousin and good in martial arts). I am now a senior student here and thank goodness, I made it through. Hannah and I always bicker every time she has a new boyfriend because they break up after a few weeks.
"You're just like that because you haven't dated since Garrett." Hannah snapped.
"Excuse me? Since Garrett? How about Jules? Owen? Landon?" I asked.
"They were just dates. You didn't really get on a sensible relationship because of your childhood sweetheart." Hannah said.
"Fine. I give up. Have fun with your dear Wesley." I hissed.
And I walked out. That is always the case. I walk out after our fight but we get back together later in the evening. I will just hope that Wesley deserves for my best friend.
As I walk pass the English Wing, the students are trying to get a glimpse of my other eye. See, I have covered my other eye with my bangs. I have grown this since my childhood sweetheart, Aladdin, migrated. His real name is not really Aladdin but we decided that we call each other Aladdin and Jasmine.
"Hey, watch it there!" Eliza said.
"Hiya! Why up so fast?" I asked her. She is never this fast.
"I'm running late for my AP Calculus class Brookie. See you later!" she shouted.
Well, that was Eliza. A never early bird.
I was inside the classroom already when I saw him. Garrett Michelson, my ex- boyfriend. It doesn't pain me every time that I see him but it's just awkward to talk to him.
"Hey Brooke, mind you if I that seat?" Doreece Samuels asked. She was referring to the seat where I'm standing now.
"S- sure." I said without thinking.
"Thanks." she smiled and has suited herself.
But then, there are o other seats besides the seat in the right of Garrett so I have no choice but to sit beside him.
When I seated there, Mr. Lamarck arrived. Mr. Lamarck was a five-minute late comer. But he was an okay teacher if you just pass his exams which are according to him are the easiest ones.
He was discussing about verbs- again. This was a boring topic, I daresay. We are seniors but he still discusses that. But then, I saw myself looking at the door and here, I saw a guy's back going somewhere. He seems familiar.
"Daydreaming, aren't we?" Garrett whispered.
"Oh, you talking to me?" I smiled.
"Yep. I noticed you're drooling to that guy waiting by the door. I think he's newbie." he said assuringly.
"Yeah. I guess, friends?" I whispered reaching my hand.
"I guess so." he shook his hand.
We were talking with the rest of the period and when we went outside, Hannah was already waiting for me. See?
"Sorry. I know I've been unkind to you earlier, you were just concerned. Anyway, were you talking to Garrett?" she asked.
"We decided to be friends. After all, past is past." I said.
"Good. But I hope that you'll try to be friends with Wes. After all, he's a mature guy." she said.
"Yeah. Let's go. We might be late for AP Physics." I said.
But little did I know that it was the beginning of my adventurous and rocky experiences in life.
I hope you like it! Please review. Criticisms will be gladly accepted.
