Liberty and Justice for All

If the people of the United States are so adamant about allowing US citizens to pursue the rights of Life, Liberty and Happiness, then why all the biased opinions opposing a very heated subject?: Gay Marriage. As it is stated, a phrase in which everyone is familiar with, " 'Til death do US part" states the life-long companionship between two people; and in doing so, it does not say that it has to be between a Man and a Woman; therefore, one shouldn't be able to judge another by whom they decide to marry.
Myself, being one with many Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual friends; the point that strongly forces its way to the surface must be acknowledged. Homosexuality is not a disease, ergo; one should not be worried about catching it. Meaning, one should not be worried about being converted. The only person(s) trying to convert someone of one sexuality to another are anti-homosexuals who are trying to change them from Homosexuality to Heterosexuality.
After stating the previous, many of us want to mention the teachings of the Bible and its condemnations against Homosexuality. How all who practice homosexuality will be condemned to hell unless having repented. If the Bible is indeed the word of God, perfect and without error, then the issue is settled: Homosexuality is a sin and we must condemn its practice. However, if the Bible is the writings of men who were only capable of seeing dimly, as if in a mirror, the way Paul described it, then we have a long way to go before we settle the question.
America as a whole should open themselves up to new ideas because sooner or later their worst fears are going to happen whether they like it or not. Many should see that America has become such a diverse country. With this diversity, the U.S. should be comfortable with those around them. If we learn to live amongst one another equally and reasonably, then there is no reason where there can't be, "Liberty and Justice for all".
Homosexuality not a disease, is not contagious, is not immoral, and is not dangerous. It is not detrimental to the society or the "Institution of Marriage." They, like many of us, are searching for emotional, romantic, sexual and affectional attraction towards one of the same gender. It is exactly the same as any heterosexual.
