A/N: After reading Allen Ginsberg's poetry, I wrote this one.

Fictional Innocence

Fictional innocence! The earth trembles with junkie needles imbedded in her skin,
-with rage as parents keep their children locked inside in fear of lost virtue
-while they fight over the whore who distracted the father from his rightful place,

Fictional innocence as those same children amuse themselves with guns!
-As they pull the trigger because they think they can save the world!
-As they see the flowering of blood before they comprehend that actions have consequences!
-While the teenage parents are getting high not knowing that someone like them has just been created!

Fictional innocence as babies fast-forward into adulthood before they can speak!

Fictional innocence as people struggle to climb out of the swirling abyss
-called poverty while the pets of the better off live like kings!

Fictional innocence while the homeless withdraw into themselves
-because no one else will listen!

Fictional innocence when the teacher cries because her students hate her
-while in reality they strike out against all that wants to control them!

Fictional innocence when that same teacher finds a lump in her breast and thinks of death as solace!
When she remembers her childhood days and saw her first 'Will Work for Food' on the way to Disneyworld and decided she would make the world a better place with love and peace! And now she screams when her world is out of control, hand raised to physically demand military attention and straight backed order!
