It's best made over an open fire late at night in the summer
with the sun just
barely setting in the distance.
In this case, we'll
make it in the backyard with friends over
and mosquitoes biting
in the evening air.
INGREDIENTS.
An approximately
four-foot-long stick from a nice tree branch,
a box or two of graham
crackers,
many Hershey's
chocolate bars,
and a bag of
marshmallows.
DIRECTIONS.
To begin, open all
packages and break one graham cracker in half. Break a piece of
chocolate off to slip in the middle when you're ready. If you would
like, grab two. When you are all set up, pull out a marshmallow and
put it on the end of your roasting stick.
Hover stick over fire
until marshmallow is golden brown and crispy… or until your arm is
tired.
TO SERVE.
After smelling smoke
and sweetness for a couple of minutes, carefully pull hot marshmallow
off of stick and onto graham cracker. Slip chocolate pieces inside,
along with other cracker on top. Squish lightly together. Wait a few
seconds for the chocolate to melt to your satisfaction.
TO EAT.
Bite slowly and
smoothly.
Savor every bite.
Delight in warmth and
stickiness of delicious treat.
Repeat.
