Spring Rains
You stand there,
dreaming
like it's all a
memory
and everything's a
memory.
Like snow to rain
Don't you wish it
could disappear?
Well,
Turn your face to the
wind
that eats its path
with warming fingers.
Let go your memories
Wait.
In time,
The lingering drifts
will fade
and drip off leaves
Green, and still fresh
from the wood.
It's time
for new memories.
Catch the falling
raindrops
and make more
And as all the memories
wash away
The asphalt
turns black
rivulets across my skin
of other's
desperately forgotten
Nostalgia.
You can only hope for
so much
And you've passed
your limit.
Now wait for spring
rains
To wash it all away.
Wait for spring rains
To make it disappear.
