The First
I stand on the brink of fate, thinking not to do
And all along the edge of fear, are others standing too.
Thinking "Should I take the step, or should I run and hide."
And while they stand, & stare, & think, they watch life from the side.
So I think I'll take the step, I'll pass to the unknown
But as I pass into the dark, I know I'm not alone.
As I rise from out the dark, I see this path is mine
Cause others saw me step in safe, and follow on my line.
As they step in more and more, the darkness does recede
Cause as they step upon the path, well known it starts to be.
But I know that they'll never think, that starting was the worst
Cause for them the path was easy, but not for me the first.
