Loveless as the Lifeless Butterfly

The butterflies that once swarmed so
Fast and free
In my heart,
You killed them with the smite
Of a thousand stabs
Even as we shared our cocoon,
You were slowly beginning
I could see it building
But so foolishly, I listened,
I cried,
I held – on
To your lies,
I wish I didn't
Wish I couldn't
But your sprinkling of sparkling
Deceived my wind,
Deceived my heart
Broken cocoon,
Lifeless butterfly
It is dead
