They exchange glances.

He looks over at her as she stares at the movie screen.

She sees him out of the corner of her eye.

'I wish I wasn't so nervous.'

They were best friends.

Now they are something more.

She fretted for an hour or so beforehand,

Trying so hard to be pretty for him.

The butterflies kick up dust, and

Send her insides on a wild ride.

Sitting awkwardly,

She hopes she can still talk to him as she did before.

Her face heats up.

'I'm glad it's dark so he can't see my blush.'

She twitches and sighs a bit to herself,

Trying to pin the butterflies down.

'Don't mess this up, don't mess this up.'

She glances at him once more and smiles.

'Maybe he's just as nervous as me.'
