"Thank you so much!" I said to Dex, walking past him into his house. I stopped in my tracks. It was huge! Even bigger than mine, which is pretty big. There was a staircase leading upstairs, and I saw another one, leading to a third floor. His living room was to the left of me. In it was a large, L shaped sofa and a flat screen, plasma T.V. The coffee table in there had a whole bunch of music magazines and a few beers. On my right was his kitchen. It was big, just like the rest of his house. And very clean. His whole house was really modern. Black and white everything. I loved it. "Nice house," I told him.

"Thanks," he smiled. "Here, I'll take that," he said, grabbing my pink duffel bag from me. He held it away from him as if it were a used tissue.

"Thanks," I said, pretending I didn't noticed how he held my bag. He lead me upstairs, to the third floor. I was already kind of out of breath, as much as I hate to admit. Not that I'm fat, just out of shape.

"Here it is," Dex announced when we made it to a black door with posters covering most of the upper half. The posters featured My Chemical Romance, Plain White T's, Dave Melillo, This Providence, Cute is What We Aim For, Nickelback, and a lot of others. "It's my sister's room." I liked her already.

"She won't mind?" I asked. I would hate to have such a cool girl be angry with me. Not thatI knew she was cool. But if her door was any indication, she was.

He laughed. "Of course not. If your hair tells me anything, she'll love you." I touched my hair, which was still in it's messy bun. I quickly pulled out the rubber band that was holding it up and put it around my wrist. I hate my hair up.

Dex opened the door and I stepped inside. It was amazing. She had a lot of the same band's posters covering her walls, and a huge collection of movies. Most of them were old movies, from the 70's and 80's. If possible, I loved her even more.

Dex followed me in, putting my bag on her bed. I couldn't wait to sleep in it, the comforter had Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas on it. "Where is your sister?" I asked eagerly.

"I don't know," he shrugged. "She'll probably be home around 10ish."

"And she won't mind me staying in her room?" I confirmed. He shook his head and I accidentally let out a squeal, forgetting my problems from earlier that day. "I can't wait to meet her!"

"Yeah," he scratched the back of his head nervously. "She might say something… weird. But just ignore her okay? She's a little loopy." I nodded my head slowly, suddenly very curious.

"Let's get something to eat," he grabbed my hand. Not in the 'I'm going to pull you downstairs against your will' way. More of a 'I like you, so I'm holding your hand' way. Except he did pull me downstairs. Again, I was surprised that I didn't pull away, like I normally would. I liked it, his hand was warm.

When we made it to the kitchen, I heard a girl singing, "This is the worst mistake I've made, and I make thousands everyday. If you give this one more shot, I'll make it up in every way. I'll call you twice a day and drive you to the airport so—" She stopped when she saw us. "Hi!" She said to Dex, then turning to me she said, "I don't know you, but I love your hair!"

I blushed and thanked her. She was very pretty; a little short, and way too skinny, but pretty. Her own hair was black with blue and blonde. Her eye makeup was a little heavy, but I didn't say anything about it. "I hope you don't mind that I'm staying in your room?"

"No way!" She squealed, not unlike my earlier squeal. "That's so cool! What's your name?"

She seemed a little to peppy. I figured she'd be really unemotional, judging by her hair. Again, I was stereotyping. She was more emotional than me. In a cute way too, she reminded of a more sophisticated Lindsay. Except way, way better.

"I'm Ryan," I told her.

"Great name! I'm Avril. Like Avril Lavine? Yeah, I love her." She giggled. "As much as I hate to admit it. I don't even know why, her songs are just so great!"

"I agree." I was actually a little ashamed to like Avril Lavine, but I did. "And I like your name too."

"No you don't," she shook your head. "But neither do I. So call me Avenue."

I actually did like the name Avril, but I agreed to call her Avenue anyways. "We were just about to get something to eat," Dex said. I had forgotten he was even there, but I was grateful he was. I really did like Dex.

"Okay," Avril—er, Avenue—smiled gaily. Than she snapped her head back to me. "Omigosh! You're Ryan!" I nodded. "I was wondering when Dex was going to meet you."

I was confused. "What?"

But Dex didn't let Avenue tell me what she meant, he cleared his throat and gave her what appeared to be a warning look.

We decided that rather than eating at his house, we should go out. We decided to go to P.F. Chang's—actually they did. I told them I couldn't afford their food since I was saving up for a new Coach purse.

They told me they'd pay, so I agreed. That was a bad move on my part.

A/N: So, um. Please tell me what you thought of this chapter. It's very short, I know, but I want to know if you like it or not. So just leave a quick review telling me if you like it or not. And if you don't would you mind telling me why? If you don't have time to leave a long one, I don't care, but really, it only takes 5 seconds to leave a three word review, so don't be lazy. Okay, well thanks for reading!
