I walked the path less traveled

As I was always told I should.

I wanted to be different than those

That had come so many times before

I set out along this road,

trying time and time again

to be a person all my own,

to be someone…

But as I walked along I found

There is something they don't say.

A path that is less traveled…

There's a reason it's that way.

Your feet grow bruised and bloody

When you walk the steep, rocky slope.

The ground there is uneven, filled with

ruts to make you fall, take away your hope

I soon found out, the hard way

As I continued my journey…alone

That the road less traveled offers only

Loneliness and broken soles
