So, I decided to repost this story. I had to clean the system out on my computer, so I lost the story and now I'm retyping it. There's a few changes but none that would change the plot. Just more angst.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexis Daniels approached the new school building, well, new to her anyway.

"Think positive," Her mom, Janie, advised her "It won't be that bad."

"Easy for you to say." She sneered, grabbing her bag.

"I promise you'll be okay, sweetie."

Alexis opened the passenger's side door and hesitantly got out.

"I hope you're right." She replied, reaching for her schedule at the bottom of her jean's pocket "Bye, mom."

"Bye, Alexis."

"Here it goes." the teenager sighed, eventually making her way in.

The loud talking and numerous students waiting around reminded her of the atmosphere at her old school.

"Normal," She concluded, walking toward the lockers, particularly the one labeled 47 "27-8-16."

The locker didn't budge.

"Are you kidding me," Alexis groaned after two more not so successful attempts "Please open!"

"Locker trouble or do you like talking to yourself?"

Alexis jumped slightly and turned to the smiling boy. He wasn't extremely tall, maybe around 5'9, with dirty blond hair and welcoming, dark brown eyes.

"Um," She blushed "I don't think my locker is capable of opening."

"Let me try," He offered "What's the combo?"

"27-8-16."

The boy reached for the lock while reciting the numbers softly.

"Wow," Alexis gasped as it finally opened "I so owe you."

"I'll keep that in mind," He smirked, unlocking his own locker "I'm Logan."

"Alexis." She introduced.

"New here, huh?"

"Seems that way." She answered with a hint of sarcasm.

"Dumb question on my part," Logan laughed as he faced the girl "But you were amazed by an opened locker."

Alexis shifted her eyes to the floor, slightly embarrassed.

"I didn't mean to make you feel bad."

"You didn't." She quickly recovered, eyeing him again.

The bell rang loudly, interrupting the silence between the two.

"What's your first class?" Logan asked.

"English with Mrs. Lee."

"Brutal," He commented "Do you want me to show you-."

"Yes!" She answered too quickly "Er...I mean, sure I would like that."

He simply grinned as she walked beside him.

"Won't you be late for your class?" Alexis questioned.

"Nope," Logan responded confidently, stopping at a door "Here it is."

"I'm so nervous." She blurted childishly.

"Don't be," He whispered, pushing open the door "I'll walk in with you."

True to his word, Logan walked in, pulling a reluctant Alexis behind him.

"Come on." He urged.

"Mr. Taylor, you're not in this class." the teacher announced, causing the students to look up.

"I'm aware," He agreed as the tardy bell rang "But she is and didn't know where to go."

"Okay," Mrs. Lee nodded, glancing at the nervous girl "You can go back your class now."

"You are going to be late," Alexis said softly "Told you."

"May I have a pass so I won't be counted late for helping a lost, new student?" He requested.

Rolling her eyes, the older lady signed a piece of paper before handing it off.

"Thank you," He smiled gratefully before turning around "Told you."

Alexis smiled slightly toward Logan's cleverness as he left.

"And you are?"

"Alexis." She answered, holding her notebook tighter.

Mrs. Lee scanned the classroom briefly.

"You can sit behind Zachary."

"It's Zach," He corrected "Like I've told you for the hundredth time."

"Same thing." She muttered, sorting through some papers.

Alexis laughed lightly at the comment while making it to the empty seat. With her head down, she finally made it and sat down, completely ignoring the known stares.

"This is going to be so boring." She muttered while facing the front.

--------------------------

"Logan," Devon Kingson, his best friend, called "Logan."

"Huh?" He questioned.

"Why were you late?"

"A girl." Logan simply smiled.

"Is she hot?" Devon asked eagerly.

"She's pretty," He corrected "You know I don't refer to girls as hot."

"I forgot," Devon shrugged "What does she look like?"

"Dark brown hair, bright green eyes, semi-tall with an amazing body," Logan dreamily answered "She's new, you'll see her."

Devon nodded and returned his attention toward the teacher as Logan tried to do the same.
