A/N: Hey people. Inspiration has struck. Looks like I will be putting on stories. Hmm. Well I hope that you will enjoy it. D

CHAPTER ONE: Explanations

"Watch your back Jake. Cause someday there might be a knife in it. And Katherine will be mine."

The words echoed in my head as I remembered that horrible day. I guess I had better explain what is going on. My name is Katherine and my boyfriend's name is Jake. There is this friend of ours gone bad named Justin. We three were the best of friends until Jake asked me out. Of course I said yes but apparently Justin was going to ask me out the same day. He got so furious that he didn't make it there first. The next day me and Jake were walking and holding hands when he came up and threatened Jake. I have always stayed near Jake since then fearing for his life and possibly for my own.

I am 17 and Jake is 18. I have long golden, blonde hair and sparkling sapphire blue eyes. Jake has sandy, shaggy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Most people say that we are the perfect couple and we think so too. We both love rock 'n' roll and other types of music. We both play guitar and write stories together.

We live on the same street as well as Justin does. My house is in the middle of their's. Jake's is on the left and Justin's is on the right. Justin is 18 so he lives by himself as well as Jake does. Their parents moved out and left them their house's. I live with my parents and my sister has already moved out to college. We are heading out to college next year, me, Jake, and unfortunately Justin. We all are going to the same college so I hope nothing goes wrong.

I was jolted out of my thoughts as there was yelp of surprise outside. It sounded like Jake! I rushed outside to see Justin pinning down Jake. Jake is pretty strong but Justin had rage and jealousy on his side. I ran outside and pushed Justin off Jake. Justin stood up and grabbed my wrists.

"Stay out of this Katherine!" I yelped in pain as his grip tightened.

"Let go of her!" Jake said then bowled over Justin.

I leapt out of the way as the boys wrestled on the ground. Jake was winning until the fight took an unexpected turn. Justin pulled out a knife. Its blade glinted in the soft moonlight that was shining down on us. Jake dodged as Justin swung the knife at him.

"Justin no! Don't hurt him!" I cried in desperation.

He ignored me and swung the knife again. This time he caught Jake in the arm. Velvet blood fell on the grass as Jake clutched his wounded arm. He knelt in the grass blood seeping through his fingers. I ran to him a knelt in front of him. I flinched as I felt the cold blade on my neck.

"Stand up." Justin ordered and I obeyed.

He didn't notice as I slid my arm slowly up towards his knife. When I was close enough I grabbed the handle and wrenched it out of his hand. I flung the knife into a ditched filled with oily water. I kicked Justin in the shin and ran towards Jake. He was laying on the grass eyes shut tightly in pain. He was losing too much blood.
