Water

The water,

The river, the lake,

The salty taste of the Ocean.

The crash of the waves,

The splash on my skin.

They're fleeting memoirs.

That one last day

I'd see you the same,

As you were back then.

My heart's in a rut,

My body's a mess,

My mind's fucked up,

Nonetheless,

I think I still love you.

Only because I don't hate

With all elements of my being,

Especially water.

Because the water still

Refreshes me.

The rivers and lakes

Calm me, yet get me excited,

And the salty taste

Reminds me of what you took me from.

But I allowed myself to be carried away,

It was my choice to jump,

And be carried away

By the water.
