Epilogue: Wishes Fulfilled
I walked out of the classroom with a group of chatting girls by my side. I scanned the crowded hallway once before sighting a flash of blonde and my eyes locked onto two bright blue eyes.
Without a word, I pushed my way across, my eyes never leaving those sapphire orbs trained onto me. He pulled my close and wordlessly kissed me. My eyes travelled from his hair, with the now permanent black highlights, down to his face.
"Let's go."
His arm was circled protectively around my waist as we walked off. Tyler suddenly walked out of a classroom in front of us, laughing with a few of his new friends. Upon seeing us, he grinned broadly and dropped his friends to walk beside us.
"Hey Kris."
Eric followed him, nodding at me silently. We walked out into the school parking lot where the crowds of students where thinning out. Everyone walked towards Josh's Porsche but I found myself stopping, my eyes drawn to the slowly darkening blood red-violet sky. Josh was first to notice me standing there staring. He turned round to walk back to me. I ignored him. I couldn't make my feet move, I felt so tired that I could barely even move. I felt so tired that I just wanted to lie down and die as memories started popping back up again. All the memories that I had tried desperately to repress. Then one memory came up, that had me spell bound-it was when Josh had kissed me in his hotel room.
Then the bad memories were replaced with all the good ones. All the ones with Josh.
Then someone grabbed my hand and held it tight, I looked up into the concerned eyes of Josh. Eric and Tyler formed a circle next to Josh and I. Josh looked slowly from one to another, his face serious.
"After all we went through, this is it guys. This is the end, and the beginning of a whole new phase in our lives. Despite all the crap that we went through, despite all the crap that resembled out lives before, we still have each other, and that's all that matters."
Eric nodded slowly. Josh continued, staring each of us in the eye. "So let's make a promise. Right here, right now. That no matter what happens; we'll always stick together, as a team."
Eric nodded again and put his hand out palm down. "For better or worse."
Tyler put his hand on top with a grin. "'Till death do us part."
"For all eternity." Josh put his hand on top of Eric's and Tyler's. He looked into my eyes.
I looked at all three of them. And as I did, I was a washed with all of the great times in my life. I felt my old energy returning, I felt my old self come back, I felt whole again. I smiled and slapped my hand onto Josh's one.
"No matter what."
We made our way over to Joshes car, but before I got in, I stared at the sky once more. The reddish tinged sky brought a smile to my face. It was our new beginning.
-Everything was ok.
-I had the man of my dreams.
-And I had found my happily ever after.
