Don't Think

---

Don't think I don't know
What you're going through.
Don't think that I haven't been
There myself a time or two.
In fact, my friend, honestly,
We are one and the same,
Because I too have played part
In this bloodied game.

Don't think I don't know
The razor's sweet allure.
Believe me, I've been there,
My motives weren't always pure.
In fact, my friend, honestly,
There once was a time when I
Wanted nothing more than to
Give it all up, let loose, and fly.

Don't think that I don't understand
Just how sweet a tune it plays,
Because it's narcotic harmonies
Will trap you for days.
In fact, my friend, honestly,
I know it is a drug.
And just like all the others,
It hurts to give it up.

Don't think I haven't been there;
Don't think I'm so naïve.
Because I've been one to do the hurting,
And also the one to have to grieve.
In fact, my friend, honestly,
I've played the game from both ends,
Doing it and scaring my family;
And seeing it done and losing my friends.

Don't think you can't come to me
When your hurting starts,
Because as I've told you
I've played both integral parts.
In fact, my friend, honestly,
I know what you're going through,
And I know it isn't easy.
But know, I'm here for you.
