Headphones & Glitter

Hello.
Patchwork.Scattered.
These
Are
MEMORIES
of a
BREAKDOWN.
Of tears and trauma.
And of missing the end of the slow turning
Wheels.

(She's watching again...)

That was now.
This is then.
Rewind.
Slowdown.

She was Curiously
Covered
In the earth's velvet dirt.
And was somehow encountering
Grinding on the roads
(he found her)
He was wearing green canvas
And carrying his work
Under red
And under wicker.

(there were a number of
chorusing
pebbles in a birdcage.)

B u t

He offered a hand.

She wanted to speak

"I wish to encounter
A merchant"

said she.

"A merchant
Who sells adventures."

-------

Do not worry. She was dreaming.
Sleep. Sleep.
Or F O R E V E R hold your peace.
I choose to listen.
Through glitter.

How is this abandonment
(it sure isn't rescue...)
And some of them
May whisper
That tomorrow will be so b r i g h t
That the telescope lens
Will shatter
And blind any merchant
Who tries to sell me
False adventure.

(Go back again)

Outside sounds stir slumber
Talking hurriedly on the phone
Can't take out those headphones
Until he decides to go home

We're teething inside.
Forming a skull.
Because its about survival.
Lets keep on living

And hope that
I won't wake up
W i t h headphone wires
Tight
Around my throat.
