Lockdown

At school, there's always a kid who's been teased. And finally…that kid snapped. It starts with a threat on the wall and soon ends with a gunshot.

ONE- How It All Began

"Hey twerp, watch where you're going!" a bully said to the new kid in school. Cody his name was. The bully shoved Cody and he fell down the school staircase.

Laughter rang at his ears. Cody glared and stood up, walking away from it all.

"So, what's going on in Mrs. Schafer's class-"

Rose was cut off by a loud sound. Kids were screaming.

"The school is going into emergency lockdown." the principal said on the loudspeaker. "Please get into the nearest classroom now."

"Rose, c'mon!" Josh cried and grabbed her arm. He pulled her into a classroom and they hid under a desk.

A kid ran through the halls. He wore an oversized black sweatshirt with the hood up so nobody could see his face. He held a gun in his hands. He turned a corner and bumped into Rose.

"Aah!" Rose cried as she fell over.

The kid dropped his gun and his sweatshirt hood fell off.

"Cody?" Rose breathed.

"I'm not hurting Rose!" Cody yelled at Jamie.

"Fine! Then I am!" he snapped. Jamie snatched the gun away from him and cocked it. He pointed it at Rose.

"NO!" Cody shouted and tackled him to the ground. The two wrestled for the gun.

BANG!

BANG!

Cody laid motionless on the ground, blood soaking his black sweatshirt.

There was another gunshot and a girl's scream…

And it all went quiet as the world turned black…

"I didn't want it to turn to this." Cody muttered. He put his gun in his backpack and ran out of his house.

"Honey, what happened?" Mrs. Jackson asked her daughter.

"Basically, Codes went full on psycho on us and started killing people." Rose said. "I'm going to bed." she got up and went in her house.

"I've been suffering for weeks. It's been a joke to you and your friends but it's not. I should just stop it." Cody said to Josh. He stood up and started to walk away.

"What do you mean, 'just stop it'?" Josh asked. Cody looked back at him. He shook his head and walked away.

"Cody McIntire, you have been brought here for the shooting in Buckner High School. How do you plead?" the judge asked.

Yep, that's basically all that happened to us. Well, maybe I should back it up a bit so you're not confused. I'll start with my name.

My name is Cody McIntire. I'm thirteen-years-old.

My friends Rose Jackson and Josh Smith are the victims of the North Shore Junior High school shooting…

And I'm the cause.
