Chapter Two: Ire

11:04 PM.

Ire and Sapphire walked through a deserted park.

"Are you ready?" Ire asked.

"Yup. Let's do this." Sapphire said. She pushed some hair out of her green eyes. Ire put on black gloves.

"Yeah." Ire said after a moment of silence. "Jewelry store?"

"Uh-huh." Sapphire said. They usually didn't talk much when they went to a robbing. They were always nervous.

"C'mon, the quicker we finish, the happier Rock is." Ire said. He and Sapphire ran towards the store. They walked inside nonchalantly, trying not to attract attention. They pretended to look at jewelry.

"Ready?" Sapphire mouthed to Ire. When he nodded, she whipped out her gun and pointed it at the ceiling.

"ALRIGHT, EVERYBODY FREEZE!" she yelled and pulled back the trigger. There were scattered screams as Sapphire pressed the gun against the cashier's temples.

Ire ran through the aisles, getting as much jewelry as he could.

"Ire, hurry up!" she yelled.

He ran behind the counter, getting money out of the cash register and jumped over the counter. "Let's go Sapphire!"

The two teens ran out of the store, ignoring the screams and the alarm ringing.

-

They were a few yards away when they paused to catch their breath. Suddenly a light flashed on them.

Red and blue. Red and blue.

"Shit!" Ire yelled. He grabbed Sapphire's hand and they ran away at top speed.

-

"I think we lost 'em." Sapphire said after an hour of running. The two of them walked down a dirt road that led to the woods.

"That was some chase." Ire said, panting slightly.

"Yeah." Sapphire agreed. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and grinned at Ire.

"We'd better hurry up. It's getting late." Ire muttered.

"Right." they walked deeper in the woods until they hit a shallow river. Ire grabbed the rope hanging from a tree branch above it. Sapphire wrapped her arms around his waist and they swung across. Sapphire felt herself melt when she embraced him. 'Wait a second! I can't feel this way! I'm not supposed to like Ire!'

When they reached the other side, they ran to a large tree house.

The tree house had three levels- top, middle, and bottom. It was huge. Six kids lived there, including Sapphire and Ire.

"We're back." Ire said walking into the top level of the tree house.

"Hey." five other boys said to them.

Sapphire walked over to Cerulean and ruffled his white hair.

"It's about time you got back." Cerulean said.

"Yeah, well we woulda been back sooner if we weren't blinded by those red and blue lights." Sapphire asked.

"You got busted?!" Scorpio asked.

"No! We're too good to get caught." Ire said and laugh.

"Yeah." Sapphire said. She couldn't help but smile at Ire's laugh. It was kinda cute. 'Cute? Whoa, snap out of it Saph!'

She sighed and leaned back in the chair she was sitting in.

"You OK Saphy?" Mustang asked, using her nickname.

"I'm fine!" she snapped.

"Someone's cranky." Ire muttered.

"Rack off(1) Joshua!" Sapphire said, using Ire's real name. she stood up and stomped out of the tree house.

"Ooo, you pissed her off Ire." Rock said to him.

"I'll go talk to her." Cerulean said. "She actually like me." he smirked at the older boys and walked down to the bottom level of the tree house.

"Saph, you alright?" he asked her, sitting down a section Sapphire was leaning on.

"Fine." she said.

"No you aren't." Cerulean said. "There's something bothering you."

"Good on ya(2) Cerulean. You figured me out." she said sarcastically.

Cerulean rolled his eyes and hoped down next to her. "C'mon, tell me."

Sapphire sighed and looked in his pleading cerulean blue eyes. "Fine." she said. She looked around and lowered her voice. "I…I think I'm in love with…Ire."
