footprints in my skin
purple scars, memories
a journey from there to here
tainted and broken flesh
red waves and silver suns
over.
god carries me
&& footprints stay in their place
in which they belong
reminding me to stay away
from silver chains,
surfing in waves of red,
bathing in such baths,
crying such tears.
these footprints in my flesh
have a purpose
never again will they be drawn
my face turns to Jesus
he erases the hurt
not these faint scars
footprints in my skin
are forever.
they are a reminder,
the faint sunsets of color
from darkening skies
sun screaming ends.
footprints in my skin
will forever be.
praise god.
the footprints are there
paths already traveled
&& will never be
again.
