The Sun King is dancing with the Moon Queen
In a waltz of wants, wishes, and whispers,
Among the hallways of heavens,
Along tangles of midnight black linens.
They're dancing to the orchestra of the rain,
An endless song, at least for tonight.

And who would believe me if I said they kissed?
But kissed beyond the realm of reasoning,
Believe me, they did.

They danced past awestruck stars, past mountain cones,
Past everything they've ever known.
They danced forever, for eternity past midnight.
But then they knew they had to say goodbye
For eternity never lasted that long;
It had always been such a lie.

And soon, Dawn comes for the Moon,
Quickly chasing her away.
Broken, the Sun King weeps in silence
For the love that ended in disarray.
