A/N: This is starting to look familiar, huh?
Well, it appears I have joined the ranks of the lovely Myrika, angels and effects, Dillusional and SamanthaNicole and several others in that my works have been ripped off.
"Much Better" and "Off the Page" got hit, with "Off the Page" getting the worse treatment. "Much Better" ended up posted on some girl's blog. I don't know yet if she's claiming it as her work or not, but she still has no right to post it like that.
"Off the Page" got a name change, "Stranger Then Fiction" (couldn't even have the right spelling of "than"? Come on now) and a main character sex change. Perhaps she thought since she changed the relationship from a straight one to a gay one she'd be safe. Or since she changed the title and the character names she'd be okay. But then she still managed to rip off my story practically word for word. Even the summary for it is the same as my summary for "Off the Page". She's even going to write a sequel for it! Wonder if she'll actually write it since "Off the Page" has no sequel. Maybe she'll steal that from someone else. Unbelievable.
So now I'm working on getting this fixed.
Anywho, in light of all this ridiculous behavior, I've come to the conclusion that it would be idiotic to keep posting my stuff here. I'm very aware that I put my stuff out there at the risk of being stolen, but the want for others to read my works was more powerful than my paranoia. Now I have a reason to be paranoid.
With that said, I'll be taking down basically everything and I will cease posting "Ordinary World" because that is one of my babies and if it gets ripped off (or I find out it's being ripped off)…well, it will not be a good thing, let's just leave it at that.
Sorry guys. You have no idea how much this sucks. I was excited to show off a polished version of "OW" and am proud of the fandom "Much Better" has received, but I kind of have no choice. I'd be a dope to leave it up now, or, at least, an even bigger dope for keeping it up after this has happened.
Have a problem with it? Consult the girls who made it happen. Find out if there's more of this stuff going on and alert the authors. Don't yell at me or the others for protecting our work, yell at the ones stole it and ruined in for everyone, 'kay?
Thanks for all your support, input, love, attention, all that. You really have no idea how much I appreciate it. You guys will always rock my socks.
