Trying to Teach a Blonde
Chapter 1: Driver's Ed. Part I
"I'm going to take driving lessons! I'm going to take driving lessons!" Trixie sang to herself as she opened the front door of her house. She was your average 18 year old girl, with long flowing blonde hair. She was on her way to learn how to drive, she had never learned anything before. The only thing she was good at was breathing in – NOT breathing out.
She opened the passenger seat door of her mom's car and sat down. She pulled down the make-up mirror and a voice came out, "Trixie! Put on your seat belt! Pull it down and place it in the buckle." Trixie was the tradicional dumb blonde and couldn't remember anything.
Her mother, who was a brunette started the car, drove down the block to the driving school, and threw trixie out of the car, she yelled "Good luck, honey!" as the car sped away…
A man came out of one of the learner's cars and walked up to her, "Trixie Dremson?" he asked.
Trixie looked at the name tag ironed on to her shirt, she read out loud, "Tr-Ix-Ie," she made an excited gesture, "Yep, I'm Trixie!"
"Wonderful! I'm Mr. Bentz, let's get in the learner's car and get started with the lesson." He made a gesture toward the car, and they both got in. "Now, we have to start the car, put this key in the ignition, and turn it clockwise," he said as he handed Trixie a key.
"I can do it, Mr. Dunce!" she squealed happily.
"Mr. Bentz." He corrected.
"So, I put the key in the ig-ni-ti-on and turn in count-er-clo-ck-wise…" She forgot where the ignition was so she stabbed the key into the steering wheel, thereby, releasing the airbag, "Yay!!!! I did it!!!!"
"No, Trixie…" Mr. Bentz said as he taped up the hole in the steering wheel, "Like this." He put the key in the ignition and started it. "Understannd?"
Trixie nodded in a confused manner.
"We can go over that tomorrow," Mr. Bentz sighed, "Let's learn how to shift the car into drive. First, you take this little lever, and drag in from 'Park' to 'Drive'."
"I don't see a 'Park' here…"
"This little 'P' is for park, you have to drag it down to 'D' so you can drive."
"This isn't time for the park, Mr. Bent! I need to learn!"
"That's Mr… nevermind." He slapped his forehead in hopelessness.
