My Skater Boy
Double glass doors
Show a boy with curly black hair
With his black head phones on his ears
And skateboard beneath his feet
Skateboarding was his escape
And his l.i.f.e.
He skateboarded in a parking lot
Of a church
Searching so desperately for love
And crying so desperately for attention
Although he'd never admit it.
My heart goes out to this skater boy
The one that crashed on the church's couch
That one that ate in the church's kitchen
The one that skates around the parking lot
My heart goes out to he who hungers
And in this moment I pray
He is healed
From the thing
That is keeping him in chains.
This poem is a tribute to my skater boy
My friend, and hopefully soon
my brother in Christ.
