Trapped inside a cage of bone.

Look around, I'm not alone.

Skeletons from my past are here—

Punishment for sin I've known.

Doubt and guilt eat through my skull.

Clouds of darkness drown my soul.

All these demons haunting me

Will not stop 'til my pain is full.

But another Spirit does arrive,

Helping me to stay alive.

He looks upon my broken corpse;

Through grace and love, I do revive.

He takes upon Himself this knife,

Relieving me of shame and strife.

The old self is a skeleton;

The Spirit overflows with life.
