Chapter 3

Danny stepped into the office looking around. He stopped in front of the secretary's desk with a nervous smile. It was finally time to put his voice to use. He truly hoped she would believe he was a girl. Well that's a strange thought for a man to have…then again this is a strange situation. He sighed and she greeted him with a gentle smile.

"Can I help you sweetie?" The woman looked to be in her early forties. She had blonde, layered hair that reached just past her shoulders. Her eyes were a gentle blue and she wore a pastel blue colored shirt. Her desk was filled with pictures of her and her family. Overall, she seemed like a very sweet woman. Danny could hear it in her voice.

"Um…yes," he said in his practiced girl voice. Danny was waiting for some weird look or response but was shocked when he got neither. She looked at him expectantly and Danny smiled. She raised her nicely plucked eyebrows. "Well, I need my room number and my schedule."

"Ok, were you a late sign up?"

He giggled. Or what he thought was a giggle.

"Yeah."

She smiled and turned to her computer and started to type away.

"Name?" she said without looking up.

"Danielle Alexandria Michaels," Danny said sweetly. The secretary looked up with another one of her gentle smiles. She was definitely a mother. Or a mother at heart.

"Aw, what a pretty name," she said kindly. His smile widened.

"Thanks. I was named after my grandpa."

Her smile faded as she looked at him funny. Danny stood there confused at her sudden change in expression. Then it hit him what he said. Shit.

"I-I mean my grandma. How silly of me," he giggled. She smiled and nodded again and turned back to her computer. Danny let out a sigh of relief and slumped a bit. He inwardly groaned. His heels were already bugging him. How girls wear these on a daily basis is beyond me. That's for sure. And the boobs were wearing him down. But worst of all, the pantyhose was riding up. The secretary looked back at him.

"Here you go honey. Have a nice day," she said handing him a piece of paper with his schedule and his room number scribbled on it.

"Thanks," he replied kindly. He grabbed his bags and made his way to his dorm room. He stopped right in front of room 211. He checked his schedule and couldn't tell whether it said 211 or 217. The door was completely open and he looked in and was surprised when eyes met his. She was sitting on one of the beds looking at him. She had on a black tank top with a red, plaid skirt. Her jet black hair was pulled back into a messy bun. She wore fishnet stockings and black boots. She stared at him coldly with her blue eyes.

"Sup dude," she said unenthusiastically. Immediately Danny panicked. Oh my god! Does she know? How? Could she tell my boobs were fake? Was she a mind reader? I am so dead! But how- "Girlie are you ok?"

"Huh?" he whispered. She raised an eyebrow at him. Danny realized he just used his guy voice. Damn it! "I-I mean is this my right room?"

"Danielle, I presume?" she asked. He nodded. "Yep. You're stuck with me. Oh the fun begins little one."

Danny scrunched his face in confusion before walking fully into the room. He set his bag down on the bed across the room from the girl. She continued to watch him and it made him very uncomfortable.

"So, what brings you here?"

"My parents wanted me to have a 'better' education," he said unpacking his things. She snorted.

"You got off easy. I got kicked out of my last school for writing a book and trying to sell it on campus," she replied with a smirk.

"What was it about?" he asked warily.

"A collection of my theories. It wasn't considered 'right' and defaced 'moral values' of the kids at my school. Yeah whatever," she said as she rolled her eyes.

"What kind of theories were they?"

She suddenly perked up as she got ready to go into her theory.

"Oh brother, don't get her started," a female voice said from the doorway. Daniel turned around and his mouth dropped. The girl had straight brown hair that just touched her shoulders. Her dark brown eyes twinkled with amusement and a smile was spread across her tan skinned face. She had on a pair of tight jeans with a shirt and jacket on. Suddenly aware of his drooling, Danny looked away. Thankfully, she didn't catch a thing.

"Hey Gabby, long time no see eh?" the girl on the bed laughed. The girl in the doorway dropped her bags on the available bed and gave the other girl a hug. It was then Daniel noticed the girl in the skirt had a belly button ring. Interesting.

"Too long," she giggled as she pulled away. She looked at Daniel and gave him a welcoming smile. "Hi, I'm Gabriella and this is Kaitlyn."

"Call me Kat, will ya?" she said smiling.

"And you can call me Gabby."

Danny nodded. "I'm Danielle."

"Nice to meet y-" Gabriella started when she was cut off by a girlish squeal. Danny winced and covered his ears. Stunned, everyone looked to the doorway. There, was a petite girl with dark brown hair that was cut short. It barely skimmed her shoulders. Her eyes were green with specks of grey in them. The girl was also wearing jeans and had a green t-shirt on with matching green converse sneakers. She looked excited and thrilled at the same time. Daniel glanced back at Gabriella who had the same expression.

"Minty!" Gabriella shrieked.

"Monkey!" the other girl shrieked back. The two girls ran to each other and scooped one another into a hug. Danny stood there highly confused.

"How are you?!" Gabriella said breathlessly as they broke apart.

"Never better," the other giggled.

"Oh! You have to meet someone." Gabriella pulled the petite girl towards Danny. "Sharmin this is Danielle, Danielle this is Sharmin."

"Hi," they both said.

"You look kind of…"

Danny had a panic attack inside his brain. What was she going to say?

"Like a Rebecca more than a Danielle." Danny sighed with relief. She shrugged and turned back to Gabby. "So, how are you and Tommy?"

"I dumped his ass," Gabriella replied flipping her hair over her shoulder. Kaitlyn smirked.

"Good. He was a little jackass," Kaitlyn said taking a seat on her bed again.

"Who are you guys talking about?" Danny asked curiously.

"My ex-boyfriend Tommy Watkins," she drawled. Danny burst into a hysterical laughter. The three girls stared at him, confused expressions etched onto all their faces.

"Care to share?" Kaitlyn asked.

"I kicked his ass once for threatening my best friend," he laughed. Sharmin immediately widened her eyes, Kaitlyn smiled, and Gabriella's expression mirrored Sharmin's.

"He threatened a girl?" Sharmin asked shocked.

"No," Daniel corrected her. "My best friend is a guy. His name is Scott." They all sighed.

"So, how do you feel about Scott?" Sharmin giggled as she took a seat on Danny's bed.

"Oh brother. Stop it will you?" Gabriella begged. Sharmin pouted. She looked cute when doing so too. "She has this mindset that guys and girls can't be best friends. She thinks that one day they will always fall in love like the clichéd romance stories she's always reading on that fictionpress site."

"Well, a girl can dream. I think it's adorable." Kaitlyn pretended to gag herself.

"He's just a friend. I assure you," Danny said with a smile.

"Don't you find him the least bit attractive? Haven't you ever dreamed of kissing him?"

Danny almost threw up and it showed on his face.

"Ew, I think I might puke. Look, kissing him would be like kissing my brother. Just ew!"

"Whatever…"

A sudden knock on the door caught all of their attention. They looked to the doorway to see a blonde haired boy. Danny's jaw clenched and he looked away. Sharmin held her breath at the site of this charming young man. She fixed her hair and checked her breath really fast. She stood up and offered him a smile.

"Hi," she breathed. He smiled at her and leaned against the doorway.

"Hey there beautiful," he smiled. Sharmin started to giggle uncontrollably. "Are you ok?"

"She never is," Kaitlyn laughed. Sharmin turned to her and gave her the meanest look she could muster.

"Shut up," Sharmin whined like a three year old. She turned back to the boy in the doorway. "Hi." He smirked.

"Hi," he said breathlessly. They both looked lost in each other's eyes.

"Can I help you?" Gabriella asked snapping the two of them back to earth.

"Uh-tuh-uh…" he stammered. Sharmin bit her lip and twirled a strand of her hair flirtatiously. "I'm here to talk to Danielle." Danny's head shot up. Sharmin pouted at Daniel and the other two's eyes widened. Danny stomped past Scott and grabbed his arm as he walked into the hallway. Scott waved to Sharmin who giggled again.

"What are you doing here?" he asked. Scott smirked.

"I came here to see the chicks. Oh, and you forgot this," Scott said handing him is ipod. Danny's face lit up.

"Thanks man!" he said.

"Whatever…who was that girl?"

"What girl?"

"The one who kept giggling," Scott said in some sort of dazed look. Oh no. He knows that look. That's the look he has when he totally likes a girl. Really likes… It was only a matter of time for him to work his charm on her.

"Oh. Her name is Sharmin."

"Sharmin," he said breathlessly. "It's a beautiful name."

"Yeah, gorgeous. Look, you can go now."

Scott shook his head and pushed past his best friend. Danny followed behind him. When he came back he was working his charm on Sharmin. Surprise, surprise.

"I'm Scott," he said holding out his hand. She giggled and shook it.

"I'm Sharmin."

"What a beautiful name." She immediately blush a dark pink. She almost looked like a tomato. Scott smirked and pulled out a pen and piece of paper. "Here's my number," he said handing her the paper with the seven digits scribbled on it.

"Thanks. Um…" Sharmin looked around and then stopped and bit her lower lip. She grabbed his pen and opened the palm of his hand. She wrote her number and giggled as she gave the pen back.

"I've always wanted to write my number on a guy's hand before," she said shyly. He smirked and gave her a peck on the cheek before he left.

"Later Danielle."

Sharmin stood there frozen, her eyes glazed over. Kaitlyn paid no attention to the frozen girl and Gabriella sighed. Danny looked at her confused.

"Is she going to be ok?" he asked.

"Oh yeah. She's just waiting for it to kick in. She's totally in love with your best friend you know? I've never seen her giggle that much over a guy before," Gabriella smirked. Danny nodded and smiled before returning to unpacking his things. It's going to be a long night…

"OH MY GOD!" she squealed with excitement. All three of them covered their ears as Sharmin let out an ear shattering scream. Once she calmed down, she breathed heavily with her hand to her heart. With that, she fainted. Gabriella immediately ran to her as Kaitlyn burst into a hysterical fit of laughter. Danny inwardly groaned. Is this how most girls react to guys after they kissed them? Then I pity plenty of girls I've kissed. There was so much to learn about the female race. And Danny wasn't sure if he was quite ready…
