How in the world did I end up in this situation? I didn't even want to come to this stupid concert! I swear, what I do for this girl. She always seems to drag me into the worst situations. You'd think after a few years of this I would've had enough sense not to go along with her stupid plots. Sure, we have done some weird stuff, but this is just ridiculous! I mean, trying to sneak backstage into a concert in order to ask the lead singer out. Wait...now that I think about it, it sounds exactly like something we would do.

"Come on, Nikki!" I said, trying to convince my best friend since pre-k to leave. She had come up with this brilliant idea--notice the sarcasm--to sneak backstage at a The Distance concert...and dragged me along with her I might add. The Distance is well...this band that Nikki was positively obsessed with. I sighed as I leaned against the wall by the entrance to the room where Aiden Faillor, the hot lead singer of the band (not to mention the person whom Nikki practically worships), was supposedly in. I just rolled my eyes at her poor attempt to flirt her way past the bulky sercurity guard. I mean. sure, the band was awsome, Aiden was deffinately the finest thing since Pete Wentz, and I would love to get in to meet them. I'm just not the crazed, "Oh my gosh! It's Aiden Faillor!" sorta person. After I had had enough I walked up to Nikki and forceably pulled her away and around toward the exit. "Nikki, there is absolutely no way they are going to let you in there." I said to her once she had stopped complaining.

She gave me an overdramatic look, "But, Ivy! We came all this way! I'm going to get in there to see Aiden!" she said, determination burning in her stunning chocolate brown eyes.

Not giving in that easily I argued, "You are not going to get in there. It's not my fault you bought the tickets off of that guy outside the building. Any person with enough sense would have known that they were fake." I pointed out with a quirk of my eyebrows. Nikki just shook her head, this girl was not going to give in. Then she gave me the look. The look that I always gave into. Ever since we were kids she has had this expression that anyone would give into, including me. You know the kind where her brown, doe eyes get big and she has that pout on her face. I sighed, "Fine. Go try and sneak in or something. I'll be waiting outside.

She grinned and hugged me, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ivy! You're the best friend a girl can ask for!" she said pulling away from me. "I promise, if I can't get in within an hour we'll leave." she smiled before skipping off, no doubt about to get herself into some serious shit.

"Talk about stubborn." I muttered under my breath as I starting walking to the parking lot. I sat down at the only quiet spot I could find which was on one of the benches outside the building. Since the concert was already over, the smart people had already left, considering it was close to two in the morning. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying unsuccessfully to block out the freezing cold. My black tank top didn't help either. I shivered again as the wind blew and whipped my long, dark brown hair around my face.

The concert had been awsome, it was deffinately worth the drive. With everyone screaming and the hard rock music in the background. Aiden in the front singing his heart out. His midnight black hair flipping around his sky blue eyes as he jumped up and down to the music, ripping through the strings on his guitar. Ryan Sharp, the back up singer and guitar player, was beside him bobbing his head along to the music that he played. Bobby Marks, the enthusiastic drummer, grinning as he beat his drums to a pulp, and Caleb Shepherd, the bass player, grinning along with his friends as they ripped through the music. You could tell from all the way back in the audience that they were all the best of friends. The chemistry between them was awsome on stage.

I sighed although it came out ragged as my teeth chattered from the cold, "What I do for that girl." I muttered under my breath. This isn't the first time Nikki has dragged me into something. I'm not even going to get into all the stupid things that we have accomplished in our 21 years of life. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death. She's like my sister, but sometimes -- well most of the time-- she can be a little...well stubborn. Nikki is deffinately, in my opinion, the prettier out of the two of us. She has really long black hair and chocolate brown eyes that always have a mischivous glint to them. She doesn't think that she is that pretty, but the majority of the male population of our highschool and in our college class would disagree.

I brought my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around them in an attempt to warm myself. It didn't work. I was shivering now from the cold but I was not going to go back to all of those screaming girls. I hadn't even noticed that almost everyone had left by now. But not me and Nikki! We stay until everyone every fricken person leaves! I had probably been there shivering for about an hour when I heard someone walking toward me. I didn't look up, figuring it was just some random person walking by. I was extremely surprised when that person spoke in the most beautiful--but yet strangely familiar-- voice I have ever heard. "You look cold." Oh why don't you just state the obvious!

"Really? I didn't..." I looked up "...notice." the last word came out as a wisper. Standing before me was Aiden Faillor. He had changed into a pair of jeans and a long sleeve black shirt, not to mention a nice warm jacket. He stared at me, probably expecting me to jump him with questions like "Can I have your autograh?" or scream "Oh my god! It's Aiden Faillor!" but I didn't move. He seemed to figure that he could approach me without being mauled and sat down beside me on the bench. I noticed it left a considerable distance between us, obviously not wanting me to feel uncomfortable. I watched him with a cautious expression as he took off his jacket and laid it on my shoulders.

"Here...you need it more than I do." He said with a gorgeous smile. My heart fluttered. Since when does that happen?

I shook my head, "No...no...It's fine." I said trying to give it back, but he wouldn't take it.

"Nah," he said shaking his head, "I'm fine...I'm Aiden by the way." he held out his hand for me to shake. I did...and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

Did I mention that his eyes were sky blue? They were so hyptmotizing. I was breathless for a minute before saying, "Ivy." in a wisper. I pulled his jacket tighter around me as the wind whipped around us harder. I inhaled his scent as I did so...he smelled so good!

He smiled at me, and my breath caught. "That's a beautiful name." he wispered under his breath barely loud enough for me to hear.

I couldn't help the blush that covered my face, "Th...thank you." I stuttered embaressedly. Since when did I stutter in front of guys? I mean, I talk to guys all the time back home! Okay, so maybe this guy was differant, but only because he was famous. I heard a slight chuckle come from Aiden and I couldn't help the blush that came to my face. I dared to look up at him. Sky blue met green. He was watching me. I blushed evern more and quickly looked down as though my shoes were the most interesting thing in the world to me at that moment.

"You know...a pretty girl like you shouldn't be out here at night by herself." I looked up at him, and he grinned at me playfully. I couldn't help but to smile back shyly.

I shrugged, "I can take care of myself." I said simply, looking away from him again. Although, I wasn't sure if I really could if some guy was determind to get me.

He was still smiling,"I'm sure you could." There was a hint of playfulness and sarcasm in his voice, and something else I just couldn't place. "So...where are you from?" he asked casually after a few minutes. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him looking at me again.

I dared to look up at him again, meeting his gaze. I smiled slightly before answering. "Oh...I'm from Alabama."

His eyes showed a hint of surprise, "Wow, that's pretty far away, " He smiled and I felt my heart thump loudly in my chest, "You must be a big fan to come all the way to New York. Huh?"

I shrugged, "Well, my best friend is." I didn't miss the slight dissapointment that flashed across his face. "I...I mean...I'm a big fan of you guys to! Just...just not as...obsessed as she is." I quickly corrected myself, feeling my face heat up again. Gah! What is up with me and blushing today?

He smiled, all traces of dissappointment disappearing from his face. "That's great!" he said sounding a bit to excited. He cleared his throat slightly. "I mean, that you like our music and all." he said, noticably trying to hide his grin. So, he actually cared if I liked his music or not?

The only thing to describe me though right then was confused and surprised. The thought had just hit me that the guy sitting beside me was Aiden Faillor. THE Aiden Faillor that was the lead singer of my favorite band. The guy Nikki was comepletely obsessed with, and possibly the most georgous man I have ever seen in my life. And...I was wearing his jacket. Not to mention, making a complete fool of myself my stuttering so much. The thing I was suprised about though was: Why in the world is he talking to me? I'm nothing special. Just a regualr southern girl that couldn't fit in in a big city like New York City if she tried! A girl that is obsessed with her horses and her mom's barn. A girl that is obsessed with english riding, instead of softball or dance. A girl that spends almost everyday at the barn, instead of the mall. Nothing special right? Well, that's Ivy Paige for you! Now you see why I'm so confused! I guess I shouldn't look into it that deep though. He was probably just bored or looking for someone to talk to. After our little semi-conversation I'm probably never going to see him again--much less talk to him.

I was shaken out of my revrie as I heard him say my name. I shook my head with an apologetic look on my face. "Sorry about that," I said with a small, embarressed smile.

He just chuckled, "No problem." he said with that breathtaking smile again. Gosh, why did he have to be so perfect? "So...did you like the concert?" he asked with a mischivous glint to his eyes.

I couldn't help but to smile, "It was...loud." I answered somewhat sheepishly.

"I guess you haven't been to many hard rock concerts then?" he asked with a playful grin, eyes dancing.

I shrugged embarressedly, "Is it that obvious?" I asked sheepishly. He shrugged, but his grin gave it away. "Well, I'll put it this way...I haven't been to one in a LONG time."

He just smiled, "Well, did you like this one?" he asked curiously.

I nodded, "Yeah...it was awsome! You guys look like you have alot of fun on stage." I said with a small smile.

His face seemed to brighten when I said that. Why? I didn't know. I mean, why would he care what some random girl thought of him and his band, I didn't know. I just shrugged it off. "Yeah we have all been together since we were six. They might as well be my brothers. "he said smiling. " Regardless, I'm glad you had fun. Afterall, this was the first concert you've been to in a while. I wouldn't want it to be a sucky one." He winked playfully at me.

I looked down, trying to hide the pink tinge that I was positive had come to my cheeks when he did that. I shrugged, "Yeah, we wouldn't want that to happen." I said quietly.

He laughed, "Yeah, " he said just as quietly, "So...how long do you think you're going to stay?" he asked trying to sound casual, but I could hear something else in the way he said it.

I just shrugged, "One more day, I think. Then we head back to Chancelor."

I looked up at him to see him nod, "Do you thi..."

"Ivy!!" Aiden didn't get to finish his question as Nikki screamed my name. I quickly stood up, knowing that if Nikki found me right now with Aiden Faillor she would go into obsessive mode. I looked back at him with a sad smile on my face. He looked up at me from the bench with confusion written on his face. "Well, that's my cue to leave." I took his jacket off and handed it back to him. "Nice talking to you." Turning away from him, I started walking in the opposite direction, but I barely got to take two steps before I felt someone grab my arm.

"Wait." I heard the velvety smooth voice say from behind me. I turned around and Aiden was standing up and looking at me with pleading eyes. How could I not give in to that look?

I sighed, knowing that I only had a few minutes before Nikki saw us and poor Aiden would be attacked by my best friend. "What is it?" I asked quietly.

He seemed to hesitate, "Well...um...I was wondering if..." but he was cut off again as Nikki screamed my name again, louder this time.
I shook my head, "I'm sorry but I really have to go." I pulled my arm from his grasp and started running toward the direction of my best friend. I knew that if she just glanced at him she wouldn't leave Aiden alone and I didn't want her to bother him. I ran slowly down the sidewalk before turning the corner to the other side of the building. I didn't look back at him.

I smiled at Nikki when I saw her, "Hey!" I said somewhat out of breath from running.

She spun around and looked at me, "Where were you? Gawd! I thought I lost you forever!" she asked overdramatically as she walked up to me.

I rolled my eyes, "Just hangin' out. I was waitin' for you." I leaned against the building, crossing my arms over my chest. I was already starting to miss the warmth Aiden's jacket. "How did the security guard thing turn out?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.

She pouted, "The stupid guy finally broke down and let me in, but it turned out the band already left!" she was glaring at the sidewalk, fuming. "The only reason the douschebag let me in there was so he could laugh at me!"

I tried to hold in my laugh. I had to admit, I was impressed that she had gotten herself in backstage, but there was no use, seeing as the band had already left.

"Oh well...at least you tried." I shrugged with a small smile. I still couldn't get my little talk with the lead singer of the group out of my head, but I couldn't tell Nikki. Not that I don't trust my friend, its just, I would get mauled with questions. "How 'bout we just head back to the hotel? I'm need some rest." I yawned for emphasis.

Nikki sighed pitifully, "Okay. Let's go." she said starting to walk in the direction of our hotel, which really wasn't that far from where the concert was.

As we walked Nikki was ranting about the stupid security guard and how mad she was that she didn't get to meet the band. I honestly couldn't tell you what she said. I was to concentrated on my conversation with a certain rockstar. I still couldn't get his smile out of my mind, and his eyes...oh my god his EYES! They were hypnotizing! I could stare at them forever. I still wished that I could've stayed a little bit longer. What was he going to ask me? God, I wish I knew! And he didn't want me to leave. You would've thought that he didn't care. Maybe he was thinking that I would go with him and... I shook my head. No, he wouldn't do that...would he? It's not like I knew the guy like the back of my hand or anything, but he just didn't seem like the type of guy that would go out to find some random girl and bring her back to his hotel room. No, I was sure. He wasn't that type of guy.

"Ow!" I screamed, rubbing my shoulder where Nikki had slapped me. Dang! That girl can slap hard! "What was that for?" I yelled somewhat angrily.

Nikki rolled her eyes, "Big baby!" she muttered under her breath. "We're at the hotel." she said raising an eyebrow suspiciously. "What is your problem? Did something happen while I was gone?"

I shook my head, "No, nothings wrong. And I heard that!" I said with a glare.

She rolled her eyes, "You've been acting weird ever since we left the concert." she said as we made our into the elevator.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Nik. Maybe you had a few to many drinks." I said to her as we got out of the elevator and walked to our room. I pulled the key out of the pocket of my jeans and scanned it through the slot on the door. The door clicked open and we walked in. Nikki immediately walked over to her bed and flopped down on it. I grabbed a pair of shorts and an old shirt from my suitcase and changed. When I was done I flopped down on my own bed, pulling the covers over me. I could already hear Nikki's even breathing, telling me she was asleep. I, on the other hand, could not get to sleep. I stared up at the ceiling lost in thought. About what you ask? Well, Aiden of course. Who else? I sighed, knowing that there was no chance of us meeting again. No matter how much I wished we could. I might as well get him out of my head. I rolled over on my side closing my eyes. What I didn't know ,though, was how hard it was going to be to stop thinking about him. Him and that darned smile!
