There are no stars

In this night sky

Or if there are

They are blind to thine eye

We twirl in the breeze,

Gaze out into night,

Watch dust and leaves

Up and take flight

Dark shadows are looming,

From the confines of space

Wind dances and flutters

An otherworldly race

The moon sparkles above

Haloing us in its glow

But we are no angels

For spirits tell us so

Poetic beauty stirs within us

Potential ability, so artistic and free

Words trickle off our tongues:

The awe of humanity
