Dedicated to my Nan who passed away on 28th October 2007

Butterflies

Butterflies land on empty shells,

Taking souls up to loved ones,

Flying high on a mission,

Passing trees and clouds as they die,

A soul rides on a butterfly.

Everyone has a butterfly,

May it be blue or red,

It's there for you.

When your old,

And it's your time,

You're soul gets on a butterfly.

Nan, you're getting on your butterfly,

It's your time, but its ok.

Your butterfly will keep you safe,

On your peaceful journey into space.

Here on Earth, you will be missed,

And one last time you will be kissed.

But like I said, it's ok,

Because you have your butterfly.

So on you get and fly up high,

Up there waiting is your guy.

He's been waiting a long time,

For you to meet and go to dine.

Once your there, safe and sound,

And your special guy is found.

Send your butterfly as a sign,

To let us know you've gone to dine.

Shedding tears along the way,

We'll get by day by day.

Watching us is what you do,

While we're all waiting in out queue.

Because one day, our time will come,

And up to heaven we will hum.

Our butterflies land on empty shells,

Taking our souls up to loved ones,

Flying high on a mission,

Passing trees and clouds as we die,

Our soul rides on a butterfly.
