Blooming vines release their stranglehold

Atop the sun-covered mountains.

Early in the day I realized

What sort of person I'd grow to be.

One who sleeps at noon,

Who, at night, would try to see.

When the light flickers out

And the monsters made known,

I know that I can save me.

When the sun goes down at midnight,

I realize I don't have to be my savior

When you're here by my side.
