A/N: I am sorry to say that as of 11/18/07, Neutrality has officially been permanently deleted. However, at the same time, I am happy to announce, that in its absence, is a new fiction: The Caged Bird Heeds No call. Oh, and just so you know, the first couple chapters may have 1st person things, but the story is actually 3rd person, its just the 1st portion of it that's 1st person.
Chapter 1: Hell's History
June 3rd, 2027, the world is plummeted into darkness. Gasoline runs scarce, and transportation shuts down, the world economy crashes, and the nations scramble for what remains. War rages between the boundaries in any hope of recovering resources, mechanized warfare is frozen, and the battles go into a primitive state, few have vehicles, and even simple weapons like rifles are rare on the battlefield, militaries learn to rely on the sword again, and the result is a bloody, barbaric battle in the hands of greedy men. Two years after the world erupts into war, a large oil field is finally struck by the Phoenix Union, a coalition of smaller nations formed into a single, militaristic drive. With the upper hand now gained, large armored columns and air divisions spread worldwide, and easily dominate the weakly armed nations. Tanks dominate the streets, and within three short weeks, the entire world is established as Phoenix territory. But as the Union flourishes, its citizens suffer, the mass pollution spreads disease and cancer, killing off nearly half the world's populace, and what were once great cities are but smoldering ruin. In a state of emergency, the Union establishes a military state over what is left of the world's populace and is soon recognized as the world's only, superpower. Special brigades known as Planetary Police are established to maintain control over the populace, and the world finds itself plunging even deeper into the cores of a well organized darkness. People live in poverty, vehicles and weapons are only owned by the military, and citizens are abused on a daily basis. In this world, freedom, is but a dream…
