the sun is out

but the air is cold

I watch my breath

dancing up the road
I take slow steps

on cluttered earth

I eat my words

for all they're worth

although I hold

a weightless stare

with every breath

it's more to bear

and walking on

I will stumble, fall

on the dirty ground

i'll be forced to a crawl

for gravity

I am just a slave

on bended knee

in an early grave

so I shield my eyes

and the shiver I fight

the cold melts away

there will always be light
