Chapter Eight

Ty has been sobbing the entire ride back home. He hasn't been full on crying, just sobbing uncontrollably into his open palms. Why is he so sad? He just fell thirty feet and smashed through a lab table, then snapped his back into its original form and was able to walk away like nothing ever happened. What does he have to be upset about?

We stop at a red light about twenty minutes away from my house. His sobbing subsided, even only slightly, and he looked up at me. His eyes are puffy and bloodshot from the crying and his lips are a beautiful bee-stung red.

Ty: W-wh-hy do I h-have t-to leav-ve?

OhMiGosh. He was crying over me. Crying over leaving me.

Josh: Oh sweetie. Please tell me that isn't why you have been crying this entire time.

Ty: I just – I don't wanna go. I don't wanna leave you. I want to stay and figure all of this out with you. I don't ever want to leave you.

Josh: You don't have to go anywhere, love. As long as your parents will let you stay with us, I can handle my parents.

My hand moved from the wheel to his cheek and my thumb drew invisible circles on his porcelain skin. He purred as he leaned into my palm. The light turned green, but neither of us noticed. We were also too absorbed in ourselves to realize there was a rather impatient Redneck in a beat up pick-up truck behind us. Now, the light is understandable. I mean, I can't really see the light while my tongue is being so expertly sucked on my the man of my dreams now can I? Again, not seeing the Redneck is also understandable, seeing as how my eyes might as well have been sewn shut. But, not noticing the Redneck honking his horn like his life depended on it, not so understandable.

So, as you can imagine, I was pretty shocked when my small little sports car was hit from behind and pushed into the intersection. Thank god this wasn't a very busy road. Ty's mouth shot away from mine and his head darted around, bewildered by our circumstances. Finally his head stopped moving and his eyes narrowed. I turned my body around in the seat to see that he was looking at the rather smug face a of an elderly Redneck man who looks like he has been in the grave for a few hundred years already.

The Redneck's eyes narrowed and he honked his horn yet again. Wrong move – very wrong move. Ty snapped his eyes shut and lowered his head. For a second, I actually thought he fell asleep right then and there. Boy was I wrong. His head snapped up and his eyes shot open. They were completely white and shown bright like light bulbs. Our back windshield, along with the Rednecks two front tires and his front windshield all shattered. How can tires shatter you ask? I have no idea. All I know is there was more tire lying scattered across the road than on the axis. Ty gracefully wrapped his fingers around the door handle and removed himself from the vehicle.

Josh: Ty – TY! He isn't worth it. C'mon babe. Get back in the car.

He walked ever so slowly towards the Redneck's truck. There was no rush anyways, the Redneck wasn't going anywhere. Then suddenly, he was changing. Not his body, but his features. His beautiful auburn hair was changing into a platinum blonde. He was becoming more muscular. Not big and muscley, but more toned and defined. All while the poor old man sat in his truck and stared in pure terror. He was horrified – struggling with his seatbelt and jerking on the door handle. Neither was budging. Ty emerged next to the driver door of the truck, and the driver actually shrieked. Priceless.

Josh: I can get the car fixed. Ty. Please get back in the car.

He looked the man over. The man struggled even more frantically with Ty standing there. He screamed for help and reached for the passenger door's handle. It locked immediately. The man's eyes shot back to Ty.

Ty: Sir, are you ok? You seem to be having trouble with you truck. Here, let me help you.

His seatbelt was ripped from it's socket, the buckle smashing across the man's face. The man screamed in agony as Ty placed his hands on the door. The sun shrank below newly forming clouds and I watched the horrid scene.

Ty: I'm sure I could help you with this too.

The fakest smile I have ever seen spread across Ty's face as he ripped the door off it's hinges. With one fluid motion he tossed the door backwards into the emergency lane. The clouds grew in number, and became an opaque black, making it seem as if night had come early.

Ty: Here Sir, let me help you out.

Josh: TY! Don't do this! Stop! Please!

A tear rolled down my cheek as the man was ripped from the car. He was dangling feet above the ground as Ty stood next to him. Light flashed as a bolt of lightning struck all to close to us.

Ty: Now Sir, I have to ask you. Do you think what you did to our car was very nice?

Redneck: N-no.

Josh: TY…

Ty: Do you think it was an appropriate way to handle the situation?

Redneck: D-d-definitely d-definitely not.

Tears streamed from my eyes as the lightning strikes got closer and closer. A bolt of lightning smashed into the ground not fifty feet from the Redneck's truck – followed by the loudest clap of thunder I have ever heard. The Redneck looked around frightened and Ty didn't even notice.

Ty: Will you ever do it again?

Redneck: N-No.

Josh: …STOP THIS!!

Ty: No what?

Redneck: No Sir.

Ty: Gooood. I guess you have learned the error of your ways. Don't let me catch you doing anything like that again.

The man fell to the ground and I let out a sigh of relief. The clouds began to dissipate into nothing and the sun peeked it's light through the small holes in the covered sky. Ty turned back towards me and he smiled.

Ty: Sorry about that baby. Can you believe it? The nerve of some people!

As he began to walk back towards the car, I noticed the bumper slowly bending back into the pristine shape it was originally molded into. As the bumper was being fixed, his eyes became more and more like the emerald gems I had been stunned by earlier today. By the time he got to my door his hair had returned to normal and the poor old man was speeding around us. Ty's looked me over, and his eyes widened then narrowed as he looked at my face.

Ty: Josh – your hair. And – your eyes. What's happening?

My eyes shot to the rearview mirror. I gasped and my hand shot to my mouth. My hair was a blood red. Crimson. Rojo. However you want to say it. And my eyes – they were black as night. They were darker than the clouds that just occupied the sky. My face shot back to Ty and I felt a tears well up in my eyes. I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I looked up at Ty. His face contorted in horror and a bloodcurdling shriek erupted from his perfectly carved lips. My eyes shot back to my reflection, and the second I saw myself the mirror shattered. My tear had been blood red, and my skin had become almost transparent. You could see every vein in my face.

But it was the strangest thing. I wasn't upset about that. I knew it would be fixed soon enough. But, I still wasn't upset. Because something was about to happen. Something massive. Something that would change our lives forever. I could feel it. The feeling rested there – lying in my gut.

Ty noticed the black SUV before I did. It pulled up right across from us. It stopped – just sitting there watching us. Next to me, Ty whispered "No…" as if he couldn't believe something he had just been told.

Ty: We have to go.

Josh: Get in.

Ty's eyes shot to mine. There were so many emotions swirling around in those emerald spheres. His eyes widened and gasped. "It's to late." was the last thing he said before the man stepped out of the SUV.

He was unoriginal, to say the least. He looked like an agent from The Matrix. He walked towards us like we weren't even going to attempt to escape. A thin smile spread across his lips as he set his hands on the hood of our car.

Man: I have a long and complicated name, so you can call me Bob. It was nice meeting you. I hope to see you sometime again in the future.

Was I supposed to take him seriously? I severely hope not. He stepped back a few feet, the let out a small chuckle. He continued walking back towards his gas-guzzler as his laughing got louder.

Bob: You know Ty, for being a seer, you really are blind sometimes. You might wanna watch out for that truck.

His eyes shifted to the left. I turned my head just in time to see why you shouldn't piss off rednecks. Or their trucks.

A.N:

Why shouldn't we?
I thought it was fun.

I SLAVED FOR THIS CHAPTER.
I am proud to say I am back in action...
For now.

I'm hoping to get a few more chapters done by the end of the week.

NEXT TIME:
Lots and lots of psychic yummi-ness.
Then I think I will calm down.
