Two Swans
Huge tears filled Cade's brown eyes before escaping down her face. Her cheeks were bright red and her jaw still hurt from where her father had hit her. There was probably a bruise forming from it already.
Samuel A. Boyd was not the gentleman he used to be, and since his sweet wife, Caroline S. Boyd's passing, his self respect and good manners were lost to alcoholism and abusing his two children. As the years went on, he had gotten worse. The younger one, being home more often, got the worst of it.
Silently, Cade started up the stairs while nursing her sore arm, all the while ignoring the drunken shouts from her father to come back. He was in too much of a stupor to really stop her. The man was old and not nearly fit enough to chase after his daughter as he once did when she was five, though he wished he could still race up and drag her back down the stairs by her ankles and beat her again.
Thankfully, that hadn't happened in years and she was able to make her escape. In a silent rush of her torn leggings, she made it to her room of sanctuary. Quickly, she shut the door. She would have locked it too, but her father had long since learned her tricks and took the lock away so that she could never truly escape his violence.
Trying to unsuccessfully to catch her breath, Cade's loud hiccups blocked out the noise of soft footsteps coming towards her from the other side of the room.
She jumped slightly when she felt a warm hand trace her unscathed cheek and gently wipe away her tears. Though it was pitch black in her room, she knew immediately that it was Sam.
"What are you doing here?" She asked in a hiss as more helpless tears spilled from her brown eyes. If they were discovered, their father would beat the both of them to death.
"Shhh." He whispered comfortingly, as he reached out softly and laced his fingers with her. Sighing, she squeezed his hand appreciatively and tried to smile, but her bruised cheek made it difficult. Even though it was dark, Sam saw her wince and frowned.
Quietly, he led her to her bed where he sat down and pulled her sweetly into his lap, so that she was facing him sideways. He safely secured her by wrapping his right arm around her tiny shoulders. Leaning in, he kissed each and ever tear away and ended by kissing her eyelids. There in the dark it was easy to forget who they were.
"We can't risk this -" She tried again only to be interrupted this time, by Sam placing one finger over her mouth. Immediately, she quieted with a sigh as his finger trailed from her mouth to her bruised cheek. Sam's eyes squinted dangerously as he studied it.
Flustered, Cade tried to turn away, not liking his expression in the least. Once in a great while, Sam's temper would stir and he would get a very dark look that reminded her too much of their father.
"Please don't." She whimpered and Sam forced himself to relax. He wasn't there to frighten her. Silently, he reached up and gently tilted her chin with his left hand until she was looking directly at him.
Then he quickly ducked in and kissed her jaw earning himself a gasp. When he pulled back, she could see his blue eyes and how they wavered between grave guilt and intensity. Then he swooped down again and kissed a trail from her jaw to her mouth where he softly changed from giving sweet pecks to opened mouth kisses.
Again she gasped, and Sam took that opportunity to gingerly explore her mouth. He was very careful not to over do it. He was there to comfort her, as she once did for him. As he softly swept her mouth and coaxed her shy tongue into play, Sam's mind wondered to that day when the tables had been turned.
His eye had been bruised so badly that it had swollen shut and his insides felt as if they had been crushed. He had barely made it to his room only to collapse in a heap in the doorway. In his weak state, Sam could barely stand and had relented to crawling to his bed.
And then Cade had shown up. He couldn't be sure as to exactly how she had crept into his room. By all accounts, she shouldn't have been there and she should have help him into bed and she shouldn't have tended to his eye or sung to him, but she did.
And Sam could still remember how he had sunk into her embrace and rested his head on her bosom where she rocked him back and forward and let him cry silently until he was asleep. It had been one of the kindest gestures of comfort Sam had ever gotten. He always thought that Cade had been oblivious to his own pain and suffering, but that night as she held him he learned differently.
And on the occasions since, she had always been there right by his side through it all. Sam wouldn't have dared to do this with her, Cade was his little sister for crying out loud. But their family was broken. Their father was a stranger who beat them and their mother had long since passed on. Over the nights of comfort when they confided in each other, the lines between siblings and lovers blurred. Slowly, kisses on the forehead became kisses on the lips. Holding hands became caresses and stroking. Tending wounds became something much more intimate. The understanding they had for one another was beyond that of mortals words could explain.
In their pain they had formed a common bond and had become much closer to one another than they should have.
A sharp moan broke Sam from his thoughts and it took him a minute for him to realize that Cade was pushing him away. Reluctantly he pulled away from her and frowned as she took big gulps of breath, her left hand splayed over his chest.
"Sam, we can't do this." She told him plainly when Sam tried to reach in and kiss her again. Sighing, he straightened a little and gently engulfed the hand on his chest, with his left one. Just as previous nights, Cade has always stopped them from getting too carried away.
"I can feel your heart." She mumbled quietly, her brown eyes staring straight into his blue ones.
Of course, Sam could understand why. Aside from the fact that they were siblings, Cade was five years younger than him and still new to the opposite sex. Before him, her experience with men expanded to having punched Jimmy Walker in the face when he twisted her arm and tried to steal her lunch seven years back.
She was fresh and innocent and still fearful of what would happen. But Sam loved her and he wasn't going to use her or anything. In all of his twenty three years of life, he had never loved another as he did Cade. She was something truly special to him. His spirit was drawn to her like no other. He thought maybe, perhaps they had been lovers or soul mates in a different life and somehow found one another in the next. It sounded so crazy but with the circumstances, Sam could find no other explanation.
Cade loved him too, but while Sam had discovered exactly how he felt for her some time ago, Cade was just now learning it for herself. She would come around. He cherished her, practically worshiped the ground she stood on, though he was careful not to make it obvious to the others around him.
Sam already had enough trouble with the outside world. As a man of twenty three, he should have married back when he was eighteen and started a family, but even back then Sam knew he could never be without Cade and so had slyly declined each and every marriage offer that came his way. He just wasn't drawn to other women the way he was to Cade.
At first, no one took notice, but eventually society has a whole turned against him and spread nasty rumors about possible physical or mental disabilities that would keep him from marrying until it was so bad that his drunk father took an interest in his private affairs. Much to Sam's annoyance, his father would rant and rave, and interrogate him into the ground about why he couldn't get up off his lazy butt, – even though it was Sam's job that supported the family - get married and move out.
When Sam declined, his father than gave him the option of joining a monastery or going to live with his Aunt Judith on his mother's side of the family. Apparently his aunt was a spinster getting on in her years and in need of help around her house and was willing to pay for it. Sam didn't particularly like either option, but his father was persistent.
It was quite clear that he didn't want his son living with him anymore. The gossip was bad enough, but Sam was a grown man and so he could no longer beat him like he used to and aside from that, it was a whole other mouth to feed that should have left long ago – never mind the fact that Sam was the one keeping the house in stock of food.
As of that moment, Sam had two weeks to move out. Cade knew this too. But he wasn't going to let that spoil their evening.
"Shhh, my love. All will be well, you'll see." He whispered to Cade, as he leaned in and kissed her on the forehead. She in turn, wrinkled her nose as if in revulsion, but when Sam pulled a face at her she giggled and leaned fully into his embrace so that her back was to him and her head was resting in the crook of her neck.
Quietly, he rocked her while humming a quiet melody that his mother had sung to him when he was young. Cade had been too little to remember it, but he did. Slowly, as Cade's eyes began to droop, Sam slid his right hand up Cade's shirt so that it could rest on her smooth stomach and he could draw comforting circles into her skin.
"I don't think you're my sister," He began quietly, but she was too tired to respond beyond a small shrug.
"It's just a disguise that comes with the skin." He went on, still drawing circles in her skin.
"I bet when we shed this appearance, we'll be someone else entirely...like two butterflies who were just freed from their cocoons."
Cade sighed appreciatively and Sam slid his hand higher so that it swirled between her breast and eventually stopped right above her left one. Cade grunted at his tease and arched her back so that his hand would touch her. Smiling Sam complied to her silent request and slid it over the plump flesh and squeezed it gently, erecting a moan from Cade. On impulse, he leaned down and kissed her neck before whispering into her ear.
"I love you so much...I can't even begin to explain myself..." Cade's eyes opened at this and hesitantly she turned around to face him. Unwilling to remove his hand, Sam adapted to her new position and continued to massage the soft mound. Her nipple hardening beneath his touch.
"...if only we had more time..." He mumbled regrettably. Cade continued to watch him intently.
"...I didn't want to rush this...I wanted to take it slower...there was so much I could have done for you...I could have...we could have..." He continued with a new line of distress in his voice.
"...I had it all planned out...I was going to take you with -" Unable to stand watching him torment himself, Cade interrupted. Though this time with a kiss that almost immediately was deepened when Sam entangled his left hand into brown locks of hair that were nearly identical to his.
They both moaned quietly at this and fell sideways on the bed. Eventually the two broke away for air, their breaths both hurried. Silently, Sam brought his forehead to rest against Cade's. She smiled in return. When Sam saw that she was getting tired, he pulled his hand out of her shirt, ready - on her account – to call it a night. Cade gave a strangled cry and grabbed Sam's color. Speechless with surprise, Sam found himself in a lip lock with her.
Hesitantly, he wrapped his hands around her middle, wondering why she was suddenly being so aggressive and if he should stop her. As much as he wanted her to continue, he was afraid, that like in the past, this would overwhelm her. Abruptly, he broke away.
"Cade," Sam swallowed thickly. He never finished though, because suddenly he was being pushed onto his back while she crawled onto his chest.
"I love you too." She whispered sincerely against his lips before sliding her hands up his shirt and kissing him again. Sam eagerly replied and threw his shirt over his head. Cade smiled slightly, but when Sam saw the uncertainty in her eyes he sat up and stopped her.
"It's alright, your don't have to do this to -"
"Yes, I do!" Cade argued in a harsh whisper, before roughly pushing back onto the bed. Sam grunted on impact. Quickly, she leaned down and kissed him urgently before moving her kisses down to his neck and then chest.
Before Sam knew what was happening, she shoved one of her hands down his pants and took a firm hold of his growing erection. Sam jerked at the contact and tried to sit up. Cade had never gone this far before.
But before he could protest, she once again shoved him back on the bed and started to gently pump her hand over his length. Sam swallowed again and closed his eyes.
"What ha-has gotten...into you?" He asked huskily as a shudder ran through him and he brought a hand up to rub his temples. Cade smiled at his reaction and kissed him softly. Eagerly, he responded but only for a second when a particularly strong sensation made him gasp and she pulled back.
"I've wanted to do that for a while." She confessed in a quiet voice.
Thankfully, Sam had enough control not to whimper, when she pulled her hand away. That had been close. As if reading his mind, Cade undid his pants but stopped halfway through when she thought better of it and took her top dressings off.
Even though it was dark, Sam thought she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen and reached up a shaky hand to fondle her breast. Laughing quietly, she reached up and kissed him again while her hand traveled south until it reached his hard member.
Picking up where she left off, Cade started a hard rhythm that only went faster until Sam had enough sense to push her off him before he came. Though when he did, most of his hot liquid spilled on her hand while little went on his stomach.
Cade smiled quietly at him and while Sam tried to regain control of lungs, she pulled out a handkerchief and cleaned them both up.
"Listen, Sam, I don't want to be here when you leave." She started. Sam quieted at her words and looked at her intently.
"I can barely stand it when your away at work, even if it's just for a short amount of time. Father's horrible and I have no one here who cares one dime about me. The thought of you leaving for good...has me scared to death." She shuddered at the thought and sympathetically, Sam pulled her to him so that they were both lying down on their sides, her bare chest fitting against his like a lost puzzle piece.
"Shhhh." He started as he brought his hand to the back of her neck and gently massaged it as she leaned in to the crook of his shoulder and neck. Caught in the moment, Cade tangled her legs into his, causing Sam to smile, despite himself.
"It will only be for a little while." He assured her as he started to silently rubbed her bare back. His words brought quiet hysterics, and Sam had to quickly shush her before their father came to investigate the noise.
"You'll see, love. I have everything planned. I just need to set some affairs in order and then it will be just you and me, okay?" He asked, hopefully and then kissed her forehead for good measure. Cade sniffed, slightly embarrassed for crying over something so trivial after having her arm crushed and her jaw punched by her abusive father.
"But you still have to leave." She said in a rejected voice. Sam kissed her tears away.
"I'll come back." He promised and tucked her head under his chin. She kissed his throat multiple times and whispered.
"I'll miss you." In the smallest voice ever. Sam closed his eyes. The thought of leaving her nearly broke his heart, but as he said it would only be for a little while.
"I'll miss you too." He vowed with a melancholic smile.
"Please don't leave me behind." Her muffled voice begged in the crook of his neck, causing Sam to frown.
"I have to." He said, regrettably and then thinking better pulled away to look her straight in the eye.
"You're strong." He persuaded her and kissed her softly on her lips.
"And you'll wait for me, right?" He asked brightly, though Cade could see the seriousness in his eyes. She nodded without thought. Sighing Sam pulled her into an intimate embrace and whispered sweet comforts into her ear.
Though she was disturbed by the thought of him leaving her, she didn't want to see Sam upset and so for the time being let it go. She could bring up the matter later. Her thoughts were interrupted, when out of no where, Sam brought his lips down and gently began to suck on her nipple.
Cade almost immediately began to moan. Encouraged by her response, Sam turned them so he was on top, his slight arousal digging into her stomach. Temporarily abandoning her breast, he reached up to kiss her sweetly once more while his hands hesitantly slid down to rest at the rim of her pants.
He paused there and waited for her permission, which she gave silently and started to unsuccessfully peel off her pants. Sam chuckled quietly and went to undue them, his gentle hands fumbling slightly in his nervousness. Eager now, Cade help him and together they were able to pull them down.
Panting again, he paused and looked at her with deep affection. She was perfect and as she wiggled, slightly uncomfortable beneath his naked eye and he smiled. While Cade was not nearly as tall or wirey as he was, she was still a lean girl who had filled out nicely at her hips and breasts.. Her skin was not nearly as pale in ivory as his either, but a touch darker and currently covered in a sheet of glistening sweat.
"I love you." He said again, though this time with a severe voice. Cade nodded, completely oblivious to the helpless feeling he suddenly got in his chest. It was almost as if after their time together he would never see her again and it terrified him.
Nervous beyond understanding, Sam reached into his pant pocket and pulled out something that Cade could not see in the dark.
"I was going to give you this later, but somehow..." His voice died off in a lost sigh as he leveled himself with Cade's eyes.
"...I think you should have this now..." Cade gasped when she saw that it was a necklace braided from some sort of string into a deliberate pattern with a wooden circled trinket of sorts on the end.
"...I know it's proper to where a ring, but I thought that... since...we're special I'd give you a necklace. Please say you'll where it." He asked nervously. The night cool air made him shiver and so he leaned into her body to keep them both warm.
"Yes, of course. I'll always wear it." She promised, kissing him one more time before handing him the necklace and sitting up. Sighing, he relented and pulled away from her, his body already longing for hers. Smiling at him, she pulled the veil of her shoulder length brown hair up so that Sam could fasten the necklace around her.
As he did so he told her about it.
"I made the necklace myself. It has sixteen different colors of white and brown thread woven into it. The pendant is of two swans completing a circle. I carved it myself." He added wistfully as he fingered the pendant, his earlier fears and insecurities temporarily forgotten. Cade smiled and slowly led him to lie on his back so she could drape her body over his.
"Why did you choose swans?" She asked playfully, as she ground her bare hips into his undone pants, causing him to moan in appreciation.
"Oh my love," He whispered shakily as he brought his hand up to stroke her cheek. Sighing happily, she leaned into his touch. The warm juices from her loins nearly drove Sam mad but before they went through with it he had to tell her.
"I chose swans, because they represent true love and happiness in marriage." Cade frowned slightly at his words and pulled back so that her hips dipped more into his length. He inhaled sharply at her unintentional movement. The heat from her center all but the smallest of thrusts away.
"Why would you choose that?" She asked in puzzlement, completely forgetting their current proximity. Smiling, Sam tried his hardest to keep still. It would be no good if he ruined the moment. He would wait for her time, not the other way around.
"Because, it may not be...something we'll ever be permitted... to do... marry in this life... but I thought ...I wanted to give you...some sort of true love and happiness..." Understanding his distorted words as only she could, Cade smiled and leaned down to kiss him. The weight around their hips lessened and Sam gave out a weak breath of relief, though immediately missed her warmth.
Sensing his discomfort, Cade smiled devilishly and pulled back to straddle him. His erection grew painful and just as she started to slide her hips and direct him into her, the door burst open and nearly flew off it's hinges.
The slurred curses and shouts abruptly died at the sight of Samuel A. Boyd's children, straddling each other with the younger one, Cadella S. Boyd completely stripped of any clothes on top while the older one, Samual R. Boyd wearing a set of unbuttoned trousers below.
The siblings too were quiet. While their father had on occasion stumbled into their room drunk, he had never done it so unpredictably. Usually after his beatings, he would retreat to the downstairs bedroom and pass out. Once in a great while he would make it to one of their rooms after beating them, but usually after a few hours and according to the clock on the wall, one hour had barely passed.
The silence continued, though no one had enough sense to move. Cade's face was frozen in a shocked kind of horror while Sam's was set in a grim line. Their father's face was distorted by the alcohol though, the red seemed to intensify as his rage grew. Then suddenly something snapped and he was shouting again.
Time fast forwarded and before Cade could move a huge hunk of her hair was being pulled and their father was yanking her of off Sam so fast and then she collided with the wall and her vision blurred. There was more shouting and through her blurred tears, she felt her father kick her so hard in her ribs that something cracked and the wind was hurled from her lungs.
Sam was yelling too, and there were more noises of smashing and shouting. Curses were the only words she heard. The sounds of glass shattering made her whimper, before she got enough sense over the noise to try and escape the nightmare. But once she got enough strength and stood her father turned quickly and smashed his broken wine bottle against the bridge of her nose. The force was enough to bang her head against the wall and then her father was there and his fist was connecting with her eye...
...When Cade came to, she found herself in her father's room lying in his barely used bed with a plethora of colored blankets covering her nudity. Her eye felt life someone had sewn it shut and it came as no surprise that she could not open it. Confused as to why she was there, Cade turned to find someone to help her with her predicament but the room was bare of any other occupant. When the familiar voices of her father a brother shouting in the other room reached her ears she gasped and her memory returned.
Hurriedly, she tried to sit up only to have the sensation of a brick being lodge into her right side. Groaning, Cade groggily looked down only to find her middle was all bandaged up. Lying down again, she brought her hand to her temples in aggravation, only to discover a long bandage on her nose.
The jagged bear bottle would have caused that. The shouting got a pitch louder and Cade jolted a bit when she heard Sam's muffled voice shout out her name. Hurriedly, she tried to rise and ignoring the pain, she somehow managed to gather a blanket around her form and limp towards the door. Quietly, she opened it a crack to the morning sight of Sam in the doorway, struggling to get back into the house.
Aside from a few bruises on his face, he seemed lively and unharmed as he struggled to get back in the house, desperately calling out her name while their father held his suitcase and continued to block his path and shove him out the door. Cade sagged a little in relief at Sam's good health.
She had feared the worst for him, sure that their father would kill him and while he was being forced to go and leave her behind, at least he would be alright. Looking back through the door, Cade sucked in a harp breath as their father punched him roughly in the jaw and spat curses at him.
"No, Cade! CADE!" Sam shouted as loud as he could. Their father reached out and pushed him again, but Sam was relentless.
"Shut up! Leave her be, she's still sleeping!" He barked roughly, for once sounding remotely sober as Sam continued to try and rush him to get back in.
"No, no, no!" He said shaking his head.
"Haven't you done enough!" Their father started again, looking around for some sort of weapon to use. A string of curses followed.
"I have to see Cade, before I go! Cade!" Sam started, nearly coughing in his shouts. Silently, his sister stood by the door, willing Sam to look at her. Silently calling his name.
"I've waited long enough for this. Get out, I don't want to ever see you darkening this doorway again. Stay away from us." Their father rumbled. Just as she thought all hope was lost, Sam caught her eye. His jaw jerked a little, but he stopped struggling to get back in the house. They stared at each other for a moment before their father threw Sam's suitcase in his face. The force was enough to startle him and with a yelp he stepped back to regain his footing only to have the door slammed in his face.
"I don't care where you go at this point, just get out!" He shouted, before strutting into the next room to get some booze. Silent tears formed in Cade's eye, though she knew that she probably wasn't helping her condition any.
Still, Sam had left her and she was now alo-
Her thoughts of grief were interrupted when a soft tapping was heard on her window. Startled, she pulled the blanket more tightly to her and made her way to the window as quickly as she could. When she pulled back the curtain, her tears increased when she saw Sam grinning on the other side.
When she finally managed to open the window, she was emotionally drained.
"Hey beautiful, you didn't think I'd leave without saying goodbye, did you?" Cade's heart sank when she realized that while he wore a smile on his face, his eyes were sad.
"Then, you're not taking me with you?" She asked through her sobbing. Sam reached in and stroked her cheek just as he had the night before. Cade closed her teary eyes, savoring the memory.
"We've already been over this, love." He said sadly.
"But - I thought - I thought that -" Cade tried through her hiccups before crumbling on the windowsill.
"I can't take you with me just yet." Sam whispered before tilting Cade's chin so that her teary stained face was facing his again. Leaning in he kissed away her tears like he always had.
"Where will you go?" She asked in a mumble, with both her eyes still closed.
"I'm not sure yet." He answered softly. Opening her eyes, more tears gathered. Samed kissed them away too. Gravely, he reached out and touched the swan pendant at her neck and stroked it with his thumb before releasing it.
"How long will you be gone?" She asked, this time her voice shaky with hysterics. Sam smiled softly and shrugged before leaning in and kissing her eyelids.
"But how will I know when or where to look for you? How will I know you're safe?" Sam gazed at her before chuckling.
"Jeez, What is this? An interrogation cell?" He joked, reaching out to hold her hand.
"After all the years that you've known me, you still can't trust me, can you?" He said, shaking his head in an attempt to hide the sorrow in his eyes. Cade smiled at his words.
"I'll miss you." She said quietly. Sam stopped his teasing and looked intently at her.
"Ill miss you too." He said before kissing her hand. Looking back up, his blue eyes bore into her brown ones.
"You'll wait for me, right?" He asked in a whisper, just as he had last night. Again Cade closed her eyes, savoring the memory. Finally she nodded and clasped the pendant of the two swans around her neck.
"Yes, for you I'd wait forever."
But she didn't. No sooner than a week passed after Sam's departure, that her father sent to finding her a proper husband and clearing up any bad rumors that might have started over the "incident" as he had labeled it. She wasn't quite sure how it happened, but whispers were already spreading about a possible affair between the two Boyd siblings. The mere thought was scandalous and Samuel A. Boyd knew that the best way to end such nasty rumors was to marry her off and clean airs.
After all, Cade was considered a flower just beginning to bloom and so it would make perfect sense to marry her off in her prime and consequently out of her father's life. Dumping his daughter on someone else seemed like the most logical course of action. Of course, despite her fear Cade had tried to stop him, but with after a few severe beatings she found herself in an even weaker state.
On the bright side, her appearance only worsened with the beatings. By the time she gave in, Cade's face was swollen many, many different shades of blue, purple, and black. This fact alone gave her some courage and she thought that she could buy some time with her unattractive black eyes and split lips but that only bought her three days at most. Her father shared her thoughts and so when the first man came around asking about his daughter, Samuel A. Boyd gave him her hand.
Ironically, the man Cade was to marry was Jimmy Walker, whom she had punched in the face after he had twister her arm and tried to steal her lunch back in school. When she learned who it was, she spent the night before her wedding begging and pleading with her father on bended knee not to do that to her. But he wouldn't listen and while Cade cried and pleaded, Samuel A. Boyd spent that night trying to beat some sense into his daughter.
"Shut up! You wouldn't be happy with any of these men! Get over it. You can't have him, Sam's gone. He won't be coming back!" The words cut deep and by the next day, Cade gave in and married Jimmy, though she hated him with a passion. Before the wedding, she had a passing thought on suicide, but that wouldn't help Sam any. Somehow, she had to try and wait for Sam. He would be hurt, but she was sure that he would still love her and rescue from the hell she had fallen into.
Cade spent her wedding night sobbing in hysterics while her husband beat her for her insolence. Many nights that followed were the same.
Three years passed and then Sam returned. No one knew where he had gone or what he had done with himself. No one recognized the wiry, 6'4 tousled brown haired boy in the richly dressed uniform and clean cut appearance. When asked about why such a rich man was visiting their humble town, he said he was in search of someone special. When he learned where that particular person was and that she was married, anguish engulfed him and in denial he set out to see her himself.
However, nothing could save him from the heartache he felt when he saw through a window the love of his life quietly hand her husband a mug of coffee and him give her a peck on her bruised cheek.
It was too much for him.
No sooner had he seen her that he went to the center of town and hung himself. The only clue to his identification was an engagement ring in his pocket made of the finest golds and shaped after two swans that formed the band.
