Dona Nobis Pacem

Agnus Dei,
Took our sins away
When burned and then offered

Ecce! Faith Confirmed
As the past affirmed,
First harsh and then softer.

Now it rests in wax
And humanity does it tax,
When its life is sacrificed.

Can we not resist
The cruelty that exists
And succumb to hideous vice?

And so we placidly pray
That merciful Agnus Dei
Of us our sins forgive;

But in this humanity's hour,
Faith give us power
That it should joyously live.
