And so, she, white lady innocence,
Came heart first, followed by toe,
Blindly groping for the answers
To questions she did not know.
And in her naïve groping,
She reached out for a guide,
And grasped instead a soft, sweet, voice,
Which whispered at her side,
"I love you lady innocence,
I want you to be mine,
Perch me atop your shoulder,
And love will find design."
And, so, fair lady innocence,
Was by a word made bold,
Her fingers grazed a slender figure,
And she did just as was told.
The snake was quick to bite her,
And steal her pure white heart,
And continue on his journey,
As if from the very start.
