if we are supposed to love,
then why is it that those who go to church
are the ones that dropped out saying,
"they never cared for us." or
"we didn't find what we were looking for."

if we are supposed to love,
how come the people who attend don't feel any?

if we are supposed to change,
then why it is that a tear provoking sermon
and a calling laid on hearts is hushed
only 60 seconds later only to be forgotten
within weeks.

if we are supposed to change,
how come the stars that shine through the church windows
don't light seeking eyes that are looking for hope.

if we are supposed to serve,
then why is our serving time the service that we attend
on sunday mornings in a row far beyond sight
so that the only one that knows that your sleeping
is your mother who's unconscious beside you, too.

if we are supposed to serve,
then why don't we do it?

it was once said that "Christ was the greatest person
but Christians are the worst people."

why is the church letting this become true?
(we were called to reach out, not sit back.)
