Serenade

Darkness covers all.

Light flickers dim

as a girl

looks out her window.

He waits for her,

like the night before,

to go, serenading,

off into the night.

Her hair hung loose,

she takes his hand;

they're together again

for a while.

Nothing lights their way,

but it's no matter;

both blinded by the light

they give for each other.

A kiss they share,

and gone are they for a time;

'til the dawn comes,

bringing them a light to see by.
