Beep beep. Beep beep. Beep beep.
I awoke sleepily to turn the alarm clock off. I pressed the button and sat up. Last night was almost a blur. I barely remembered getting back in the house. I then stretched my arms and legs, and stood up. I walked sleepily to the closet to pick out my clothes.
A knock came to my door, and I heard my mother's voice ask, "Kari, are you up?"
I looked at the door, and said, "Yeah, Mom, I'm up."
She asked, "Can I come in?"
I sighed and said, "You might as well."
The door creaked open and my mother walked in. She was wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans. "I'm going to work, ok?" she said. I nodded my head, and turned back to pick out my clothes.
"Did you have fun last night?" she asked.
My eyes widened and I turned to see her smiling. I smiled and nodded my head.
I turned around and replied, "They have a pretty decent forest here. Nice pond in the middle of it."
"That's good," she said. Her watch then beeped and she said, "I'm going to be late if I don't go." I then felt her kiss my cheek, as she said, "Have a good day." And before I could reply, she was out the door.
"A good day would be me sitting by the ocean," I muttered. I then found a t-shirt with one of my drawings on it. It was the one of the silver werewolf and the male. I told you my mom thought it was the best, so she thought to make a t-shirt out of it. I sighed. I took my regular shirt off and put the other shirt on. A way to start a school day for me was to be strange and not be accepted. I then grabbed some jeans a put them on.
I ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I decided to skip breakfast. I decided to walk to school because it wasn't that far from here. Maxie then barked from the kitchen.
I looked at him to see him staring at his food bowl. It was empty. I laughed and asked, "Mom didn't feed you?" I then poured food into his bowl, and he immediately began to eat. I smiled, rubbed his head, and said, "See ya after school, boy!"
I then grabbed my black backpack, hung it over my shoulders, and walked out the door, not bothering to lock it. Maxie was a sweet dog, but if intruders came, they ended up in the hospital. I smiled and walked down the sidewalk. I then heard a voice say, "See ya, Mom!"
I turned to see Jake walk out of the house, a green backpack over his shoulders. He then saw me, waved, and started to run to me. I sighed. He wasn't making my life easy. He reached me and began walking by my side. You're probably thinking why don't I yell him to buzz off. I may not like people's company, but I'm not rude, so I decided to be silent.
I saw his eyes look at my shirt, and he said, "Wow, that's a neat shirt! Where'd you get it?"
I looked at him lazily and said, "My mother pressed one of my pictures onto a shirt."
He smiled and stared at the picture. He said, "That wolf looks like the one I saw last night."
My eyes widened, and he didn't seem to notice. I asked, "Y-You saw this wolf last night?"
He shrugged and said, "I saw a huge wolf on your roof last night. It looked like that one. I hope your window was closed."
I smirked and pulled a ponytail from my wrist. I then wrapped my hair through the ponytail. A breeze came and flowed through my hair. It also brought Jake's scent to my nose. He smelt amazing. I shook my head, again furious. Don't get attached: I thought.
School
I had made it through first and second hours. There wasn't much work, but it was hard to concentrate. Jake had looked at my schedule and found that we had EVERY class together. It was hard because the air conditioners were on high cool and every second in class, I smelt his scent. He sat on the opposite side of the room, but I could still smell him.
Lunch
I sat outside in the shining sun. No one had dared come near me. I smiled. My plan was working perfectly. I then saw Jake come out of the cafeteria, but with a girl. Her arms were wrapped affectionately over his arm. I figured it was his girlfriend, no doubt. She had long, apple red hair, and from what I could see, she had green eyes. She wore a white blouse and a pink skirt. I saw her smile at Jake.
I then heard Jake say my name to her, and he looked over at me. I then saw her look at me with a death glare. I wasn't scared. Whatever she would try to do to me, I would just snap her skull between my fingers.
I realized that Jake was walking over to the table I sat at. When he reached me, he smiled. I kept my face emotionless. Jake looked at his girlfriend, and said, "Sam, this is Kari, my next door neighbor. Kari, this is my girlfriend Sam." Sam and I stared at each other. She smiled. I knew it was forced upon, so I chose not to smile back.
Sam said, "Jake talks a lot about you."
I looked at him, and said with a flat voice, "I'm sure he has." He smiled and nervously laughed.
Sam looked at me, then at my shirt. She said, "Nice….shirt."
I smiled and said, "It keeps me abnormal."
She looked at me confused.
I explained, "I don't like making friends." I then shifted my eyes towards Jake.
That seemed to please her. She then smiled a real smile. A bell rung and I stood up, walking inside.
Hallways
I closed my locker door and turned around to see Sam and three of what looked to be, friends. Two had black hair, one with blue eyes, and the other one with hazel. The other had blonde hair and brown eyes.
I looked back at Sam and she said, "Listen here, 'Kari', if you even think of stealing Jake away from me…"
I said, my voice flat, "I don't care." I then walked across the hall to my next class. She and her friends followed. The teacher wasn't in class.
I saw four boys were in the class and at least five other girls. I walked to the back, to my seat. Sam and the others followed. I placed my backpack on the ground and looked at her.
"Can I help you?" I asked, trying to sound irritated.
She looked at me and said, "I'm telling you. If you even try to take Jake away, I'll be the one who comes up to you and kills you." I looked at her muscles, or lack of. She didn't look like the type to fight.
I then placed a hand on the desk beside me. I started to clutch it. I saw her gaze follow to the hand on the desk. I looked around to see everyone, even the boys, staring at us. They were probably waiting for a fight. I heard a boy whisper to the other, "I bet the new girl could beat Sam up in a flash."
Then, the desk started to shake. Everyone's eyes widened. I grinned. I then gripped harder onto the desk. It shook even more. Everyone had their eyes on the desk now, all traces of talking, were gone.
The desk's top then shook more as I tightened my grip. A second later, the wooden desk snapped in two. Sam's eyes were huge. Everyone's were.
I smiled and said, "Oh I'm sorry. Looks like I can't control myself." Sam looked at me, then at the desk. Me. The desk. She and her followers than walked out of the classroom. The teacher than came into the room. He was bald and had glasses.
He saw the desk and yelled, "What in Sam Hill happened here?!"
He looked at me and probably saw wood chips in my hand. I felt them. They didn't hurt.
He looked at me in disbelief, and asked, "You did this?"
Before I could answer, a boy with brown hair said, "It's not her fault, Mr. Murphy. She was being threatened."
Mr. Murphy I presumed looked at the boy. He sighed. Mr. Murphy said, "Oh well. The desk was never used anyway."
"Mr. Murphy?" the boy asked.
The teacher looked at him.
"May I take her to Coach Rogers?" the boy asked.
"Make it quick, Mr. Dawson," he said, bored. It was the end of school year so he didn't care.
The boy smiled. He looked at me and started to walk. I followed.
We walked the lonely halls. He said, "My name's Stan Dawson by the way."
"Kari Okiya," I said bored.
He laughed. He said, "That's a nice name."
We then made it to the gym. I knew this because I had gym right before lunch. I then saw that we were walking to a brown haired man.
He saw Stan and walked away from his class.
"What is it, Stan?" he asked.
Stan wrapped his arm around his shoulders and said, "I think I found you a star wrestler for the team."
The coach looked passed me. He asked, "Well where is he?"
Stan laughed and said, "SHE'S right here."
Rogers looked at me, studying. He said, "But she's a girl." He sighed. He pointed us to a blue mat in the far corner. "Over there. Wrestle. I want to see how she does. Don't go hard on her, Stan."
We then walked over to the mat. Stan crouched down. All I knew was that in wrestling you had to pin your opponent to the ground. "GO!" Rogers said. I then looked around briefly. All the kids' eyes were on us, even the other coaches.
I then saw Stan rush up to me, full force. I didn't move an inch. I saw the coach smirk. Right then, Stan had his hands on my stomach, ready to pin me to the ground. I thought instinctively. I wrapped my arms on his back, and flung him over me, pinning him to the ground.
15 seconds. 20 seconds. No one said a word. They all stared at me in disbelief. I saw the coaches mouth was wide open. I let go of Stan, and he said, "Told ya, Coach."
The coach smiled and shook my hand. He said, "You're on the team!"
Apparently I was on the team. This would seem interesting.
How'd you like it? Gotta go to school so leave reviews! Bye:)
