Rain-bow Mud

rainbow
as it falls from Earth to Earth

rain
as it falls to just my Earth

my Earth is not swimming
in anything but mud
a mix of red, gold
of blue, green
of black and sun

the rainbow
is
fa
ll
ing
to splash our faces
with sunlight
and hope
(right?)

can you taste this

anything?
or is this all a
lie
(I fail to believe this.)

my lovely muddy Earth
of rainbows mixed with rain
and hope splashing mud
off my eyes.
